C'mon folks, if you consider yourself any kind of real Somervillian you HAVE to shop here. I lived in the city 10 years before a friend said to me ""I measure the changes in Somerville by going to DiMoulas. It's the only place every kind of person in the city goes""
And it's true. If a grocery store can be a center of civic life, this is it. As for the 30% figure I mention, I've done my own comparison. $200 at MB, $265 at Shaws. But go in the off hours esp. 7-9am weekdays.
Pros: 30% cheaper than Shaws, fresh produce
Cons: Not enough environmental friendly products
