Quality service 3/23/2012

My visit today was nothing more than excellent. First off its nice to walk into a store and be greeted by smiling employees. Im so glad its not one of the big chain stores, I like being able to ask questions and being able to just talk to those who work here. Zack was very informative in helping me by answering all my questions without making me feel dumb. Im sure I will be making this my ""Outdoors"" store. more

Best prices around 2/1/2012

I was looking for an m&p 40 by S&W. I went to cabellas, scheels, I even called the new safe shot thinking I could even get my permit to carry. I called bizzare guns and every place i knew that sells guns. Every place i called had a package deal that comes with that gun. Not only did mark fore have the best package it was a hundred dollars cheaper than the lowest price I found. wich was 589 plus the 25 dollar background check. Mark fore was 506 out the door background check included. more

Best gun store in Reno 10/14/2010

I've been shopping at Mark Fore & Strike for a little over a year now. They're better than the big box stores in town (cabelas and scheels) when it comes to personality and personal gun purchase. Like most small stores their ammo prices are not as low as the big box but that's to be expected. I stopped buying guns at the big box stores because the knowledge and sales help at Mark4 is just better. I had to return a gun to the manufacturer via Mark4 due to factory issues (trigger issue on a savage) and they were very helpful during the whole process. All told I've purchased close to ten guns from them and will only be buying there from now on. As to the guy that reviewed them with one star - I see people like you when I'm there sometimes and I'm not surprised that you only think of bottom line price. If you want a gun store that will treat you like a friend and give you great service for years then this is the place. I'd rather pay a bit more for some goods and get great service than stand in lines with a ticket # at Cabela's waiting to see a gun. more

New to Reloading 5/18/2009

I was out in Winnemucca and picked up a lot of lead at a sand pit used for shooting. I must have had 10 pounds of bullets. So I decided to get into reloading as I already had hundreds of cases. Went to Cabelas and Scheels and while they had the big items, they did not have the small stuff. Cabelas had no primers. Both Cabelas and Scheels had no melting pots. Mark Fore had primers, melting pots, bullet molds, handles for the molds, electronic and mechanical scales. Of course I did not know all of what I would need so I have made many trips back in the past week picking up more stuff. One plus is I am becoming a familiar customer and get waited on pretty fast. After one stop to Cabelas and one to Scheels, I do not waste my time there and go straight to Mark Fore. They also have a lot of other stuff, like guns, fishing equipment, metal detectors, clothing and etc. And parking is a lot better than Cabelas or Scheels. How about 5 feet from the front door? Pros: Has a lot of the little stuff you need Cons: Most is behind the counter more

They're OK at best. 11/22/2006

I've been there on numerous occasions alone or with a friend and find their service to be lacking. I find their prices not to be competetive with Sportsmans or Big 5 and a lot of their gear looks like it's been on shelves for ages. \r \r My biggest gripe is their gun department. I do not recall the employee's name but he is a heavy fellow, wears glasses, and slicks his hair back. I simply asked if they negotiate on prices of guns and he became irrate , raised his tone of voice, and basically told me to get lost. Terrible customer service if you ask me and people I've spoken to recieved similar service. \r \r I went straight to Sportsmans and got a fantastic deal on a similar item (15% lower price) and a much better buying experience. I would not reccomend this business and I've told many of my experience with them. more

My kind of store 7/13/2005

Mark Fore and Strike has been in the area a long time. Their products are many and their staff is the best. Been going there for years for some of my fishing equipment. They never have disappointed me. more
