Marie Catrib's Of Grand Rapids

i am a business man from wisconsin. i love to find unusual local eateries when i travel. actually i was looking for another restaurant when i got lost and saw Marie Catrib's on the corner. i said why not, and what a wonderful surprise. the middle eastern offerings were fantastic. the flavors of the hummous, taboule and kibbe were as good as i ever had anywhere. the menu also included salads and sandwiches that looked very tantalizing. the personnel was warm and friendly and added to the wonderful meal. thus every six to eight weeks when i visit grand rapids , i know where i will always stop--Marie Catrib's--fantastic! more

If ever there was a restaurant that I was glad friends introduced us to this is the one. We went to dinner there about two months ago and just fell in love with it. The decor is great, the people are friendly, and the ambiance alone gives a very homey feeling. This is definitely the place to bring a family into to help celebrate a great occasion. There was a birthday being celebrated the night we were there. The cake they brought out looked so good that we thought about "crashing" the group just to get a slice of it. Our friends also recommended the Turkish coffee. I don't drink coffee but my husband does so they split a pot. He fell in love with it. Said it was very sweet tasting. He also liked the taste of the Wheat Poppyseed bread that he bought a loaf (which didn't last very long in our house and we don't eat bread very often.) So, if you are out looking for good quality food that won't cost an arm and/or a leg, and you like friendly people, go to Marie Catrib's. It would be well worth it (you shouldn't walk out hungry anyway.) more

I am an absolute dessert fanatic so I know all the hot spots with melt-in-your-mouth desserts and this is absolutely one of them! Marie's offers daily-fresh-baked desserts that cannot be found anywhere else in town. During my first visit, Marie, the owner, came to our table several times and held conversations with our party. She was very concerned about our satisfaction but interested in find out as much about us as possible. She is a pleasant woman with a rich history. The food was excellent and the dessert even better. The price is average but dessert itself can be a little pricey. But, the taste is well-worth the cost of an occasional indulgence. more

This is an excellent, friendly restaurant! There are lots of menu choices frm gyros to tabbouleh to hommous to sandwiches. It's family friendly and gay friendly as well! There are lots of deli salads you can take home with you/. The staff is friendly, competent, and cheerful! It has sort of a coffee house feel to it with bright colors and open space/. more

Marie Catrib's is a new restaurant in the East Hills shopping center on the corner of Diamond and Lake Drive. They have excellent food - mostly sandwiches, salads and soups. They use locally grown veggies and make their own fantastic bread. The restaurant is a popular spot and the dining area is small, so make sure to have plenty of time if you're going to check it out. more
