This happened on a Saturday evening. There were 4 in our party. The restaurant was not overly crowded. The waitress greeted us warmly and took our order, then it was forever until the cornbread came. Then she had to come back and ask what Nancy had ordered. (Like 10 minutes between each of these contacts.) Then she came back and told Linda they did not have vegetables, for the plate she'd ordered. Then she brought some of the food. Then she brought my entree salad but they had dressed it with the wrong dressing. So Don and Nancy were eating but Linda and I had nothing. She took my fork with the bad salad. Then Linda's came but it had a wrong salad. Minutes and minutes more. Finally mine came, but she forgot my soup and then never did bring me another fork. We tried to keep good spirits. Don and I looked all through the pies and chose one to share. We ordered it and she said, oh, we don't have that--we never have it. I'm sure it was not the sweet waitress's fault, but a 2-hour dinner when they do not have what you try to order from the menu consistently, and when the food all comes out at separate times, is awful. Nancy was eating dessert before I got my soup and salad. The waitress apologized profusely and said she would not blame us if we never came back, but no one offered any sort of discount or recompense for a horrible dining experience. Orders wrong, food at separate times, very slow service, items not available--I think it should have been free at that point.
