Very Expensive 11/10/2010

I went to visit my mother today and on the way decided to go into Marias for something to bring to her. Imagine my shock and disbelief when I asked for 6 lemon cookies and two half moons, and when the man behind the counter wrapped everything up, told me the price was $9.50 literally knocked me for a loop! Just a note to inform you that as much as I wanted to leave the stuff right on the counter, I decided to pay. That was my FIRST and LAST time going to Maria's..... more

Best Ameretti cookies I ever had for a long time, unpleasant service 6/6/2007

I picked up a box of Ameretti cookies and bites of ""chocolate diped cake"". The cookies were amazing! the cake bites average. The service was poor. It seemed liked one of the owner was training a new hire and was overly agressive (condensending tone). When he was showing me the macoroon cookies (aparently stored in the fridge), the owner jumped in and made a comment directly to him saying he needed to quickly close the door as cold air was being lost. Pros: Amazing Amacoroon cookies- Best I ever had Cons: Service more

A great place 2/27/2005

The best cannoli I have ever had... As for the cat, they do have one in the store but there is a big metal gate covering all of the windows when they are closed so I don't believe the review that claims that the cat roams when the place is closed. All of the food that has been out on the days I have gone there has been covered. more

Authentic Italian Pastry 2/19/2005

I read another review about a cat, but I have been going to Maria's for awhile and find this difficult to believe. Plus there is a big metal door in the front when it is closed that no one would be able to see through so go figure. The cannolis are excellent and the pizelle and cookies that I have tried are wonderful also. I would highly recommend this bakery more
