I was a patient here for 2 yrs and at first was very impressed by how posh her office was and friendliness of most of the staff. But, I have left messages on the voicemail with no return calls back. And the insurance verifier said she would call me back to let me know if my ins would cover more on the fillings than she estimated for me, but never did. So, I never got the fillings done. It was too expensive for me, ($400 for 2 fillings) I have better coverage going with Delta PPO and she is a Delta Premier provider. I feel like she needs to upsell to pay for her office. I have since switched dentists. more

My family and I were patients of Dr Vanhuffel for about 10 years. Everything was great until I needed a crown and had to pay around 1,000 out of pocket. I needed to split up my copay into 2 payments (completed in a month). When I asked if this was possible, I was asked to schedule a meeting with her personally. On the day of the meeting, she sat in front of me at her desk and said ""cant you get a loan? "", I explained that I just bought a house then she replied ""if a bank wouldnt give me a loan why should she?"" I was appalled. She made me feel so very low. She said she was is a dentist not a bank. I left her office, drove away in tears and promptly found another GREAT dentist that fixed my broken tooth with a crown for about 200 dollars less and took 2 payments for the balance instead of requiring the full amount before they would begin any work. I think Dr Vanhuffel lost her human side when she built her new office. She lost 4 patients over this. She also failed to diagnose a mass in my daughters jawbone that appeared in xrays 3 years prior, but didnt get noticed. Then once ""NOTICED"" 3 years later, required admittance to the hospital for major surgery under general ansthesia. more

This is a great office. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Dr Van Huffel is so compassionate and gentle, I actually enjoy going to the dentist for the first time in my life and my children love it also! more

When I first went to this Dr. for a cleaning, I was really pleased. I was so impressed with the atmosphere of the office, it was very nice and relaxing, the staff was nice too. I was so pleased that I began talking with the doctor and her staff about having some cosmetic procedures done. I first started off with having the Zoom at-home Whitening treatment done and made arrangements to proceed with the additional cosmetic procedures, this is when the nightmare began. Pros: Nice High Tech Office $$$$$$ - But her patients pay for it! Cons: Dr. Jeckyl & Mrs. Hide Experience! ;-( more

I have always found Dr. Van Huffel to be very kind, patient and welcoming to my two small children. She always does her best to explain to my children what they can expect and she is very good at making them feel relaxed. The facility is state of the art and Dr. Van Huffel is well educated in her field. I would highly recommend this office to individuals that have previously had bad dental experiences. I think the physician tries her best, however her best is not even average. Overall, I believe she does not have the customary ethics I would want my dentist to have around my children. I highly recommend going somewhere else. Cons: No Good more

I took the time to have my insurance researched before taking my 2 kids to see her. Was informed that it should be just a few dollars out-of-pocket. The first bill that arrived was close to $140 which put me over the edge. After many phone calls with the office, we have settled on $91.00. Thats a crazy amount to have 2 kids get clean teeth ... and she couldnt even get my 7yr. olds x-rays. Not very good with kids to say the least. As far as I can tell, she is a pretty good dentist. I have been going there for a few years and have not had any problems with her work. The new facility is very modern and has a pretty relaxed atmosphere. So if you live in the area, I would think it would be worth a try to go there at least once and see what you think. I can't figure out why the reviews on this page are either ""world's greatest dentist"" or ""world's worst dentist"". I would give her between four and five stars. Also, as was alluded to in an earlier review, she is very nice looking, which doesn't hurt if you need every incentive you can get to drag yourself into a dentist's office. WOW what a great dentist!! She is so smart and knowledgeable and has the best hi-tech equipment. She has a camera that shows you on a TV screen if you have deacy or a cracked tooth, there is NO way she can make a mistake with this. She doesn't have to sell me dentistry, I can see it for myself! The entire staff is very friendly and helpful and fun to be around, I forget I am at the dentist. Don't let the nice new state of the art office fool you, she is well worth it. I would rather pay more for her skills and expertise than go to a Dr that doesn't stay up with the times and does things like they did in the 80's. I HIGHLY reccomend Dr. Van Huffel for you and your family and ALL your friends and co-workers too!! I promise you that you will like her and her work. Keep doing what you're doing Dr Van Huffel!! I liked the overall visit, i thought the doctor was a little cold, but that isn't odd amongst doctors. My problems were with the prices!! When I scheduled, and issued my insurance information, nobody told me that the doctor was out of my network. Then during my visit, Dr. Van Huffel gave me a toothpaste for sensitive teeth and when I got the bill I found out that the toothpaste was $20! Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. So all in all, it wasn't terrible, but with the charges for an out of network doctor and then the toothpaste, I ended up owning $100! Too much for the cold service if you ask me. I have had work done by this dentist in which I then had to have fixed. The dentist who fixed her work said it was so bad that she should be reported to the dental board association. I would be cautious of going to her. more

My family and I have been going to Dr. Van Huffel for three and a half years. We have always enjoyed the experience even though it the dreaded dentist. Any fears that we had about visiting the dentist were addressed with the strongest compassion and put to rest, almost immediately by the understanding and professionalism of both Maria and her staff. Dr. Van Huffel and her staff have made me feel so comfortable going to the dentist. I used to dread going but now I don't stress. She's such a compassionate person and I really feel like they do want to help me with my dental needs. I do not feel like I am walking into an office, I feel like I am walking into a friends house. I (and several family members) have been patients of Dr. Van Huffel for several years. She has treated us for all of our dental needs, including x-rays, crowns, extractions, bridges, and dentures. In all of that time, I have never received an invoice from her that I thought to be unreasonable. She is pleasant, gentle, manages pain very well, and takes the time to explain procedures and to answer questions. Her office has been very flexible and accommodating in scheduling appointments, since we travel considerable distance to be treated by Dr. Van Huffel and her staff. She has surrounded herself with an extremely professional and efficient staff. The hygienists are thorough and careful, and the entire staff is pleasant and helpful. Her offices are comfortable, modern, and attractive. I would recommend her services to anyone. Pros: Great staff ! more

If you do go to see this dentist, I would highly recommend you GET A 2ND OPINION for any work they say you might need. The customer's needs and interests are not the priority at this office. It is the amount made by the Dr that comes first. You will find that there are other dentists in the area that are lower in costs along with not quoting work that is unnecessary to the patient just to get paid. I would not recommend anyone go to this dentist. There are many others within a mile that are sooooo much better! Cons: The customers needs and interest are not a priority. more
