Great place for fun, interesting things to watch, music and 3/14/2011

This has now become mine and my husbands favorite Friday night date place. The French Quarter up stairs has the most wonderful servers and cooks. Our food is always wonderful and the prices are awesome. After dinner we go down stairs for gaming, watch singers or whatever new event for that day. Im even bringing friends there now and they fully agree. more

Best Atmosphere in Town 1/15/2011

Just watched the Steelers game with a group of friends at the Mardi Gras Casino Sports Bar. My group of six turned into so many I lost count. We've been here all day and were planning to leave but we've been having so much fun we're now watching the Packers/Falcons game! We are coming here for the Superbowl for sure. Warm and friendly atmosphere, good food and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back! more

Fun girls night out! 1/10/2011

My friends and I checked out Mardi Gras Casino after work one night. It is relatively close to our job so we figured it was the best place to have a Girls Night Out. I had been there before with my husband and enjoyed it. I don’t find it as intimidating as the Hard Rock. It is a really great place for locals to go and hang out. As it was a Tuesday night, we decided to check out the karaoke. The guy that was running it was great. He would sing with some of the people that got up there if they didn’t want to sing alone. One of my friends has a great voice so she got up and sang a few songs. After a few drinks, the rest of us got up and sang as well. Everybody was getting up and singing. It was a lot of fun and we have made plans to go back again. more

The dogs are back in town!! 1/10/2011

My husband and I went to Mardi Gras Casino to watch the dogs race the other night. While we were waiting for the second half of races to start, we went down to the casino. I played the slots while he played poker. We had a great time with the drink specials and went back to watch the dogs when the break was over. We are so glad that live racing is back as we love to pick our dogs and see how they do. more

Big place for Parties all day...Mardi Gras Casino 12/26/2010

The enviroment is funny and entertaining. You never get bored, because you can play in the casino 1st floor, you can go to Sports Bar and watch the Racing Dogs on 2nd floor or enjoy tasty dishes in the French Quarter Restaurant 3rd floor. I liked the atmosphere, friendly people around, a lot of good music....it is a good place to break the daily routine...My sister from New Jersey found cute souvenirs for her friends in the Gift Shop..... I won't miss the big party they organized for new year's eve. Last year it was awesone....dancers, music, fireworks, my whole family enjoyed the event... more

The Dawg House Karaoke Night 12/22/2010

I normally don't go to karaoke nights but my boss asked me to go to the Dawg House Sports Bar at Mardi Gras for Karaoke Night. What a blast! Awesome drink specials all night! $1 drafts...$5 pitchers!!! That helped loosen me up for a little singing! Food was great too! Chicken nachos FTW!!! The people were super friendly and we all had a great time! more

Great Food and Great Fun 12/21/2010

I love going to Karaoke night! I was looking for a fun place to sing and practice my favorite Karaoke tunes and I decide to try Karaoke at the Dawg House Bar and Grill at the Mardi Gras Casino. I must say that last Tuesday night, I had a blast at Karaoke at the Dawg House. I sang some of my favorite songs while I was there. The atmosphere was very festive and all of the employees at the Dawg House and Mardi Gras Casino were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was also great. While I was there I ate the Bases Loaded Chicken Nachos. They were excellent and the price was also great! The next time that you are looking for a great time at an establishment with friendly service and a courteous staff, think about going to the Dawg House Bar and Grill at the Mardi Gras Casino. more

French Quarter Restaurant 12/7/2010

My friend and I went to the French Quarter Restaurant at Mardi Gras Casino in Hollywood, FL. It was so relaxing when we walked in, with really good music playing. I had the Best Dijon Chicken while my friend enjoyed an all you can Eat Prime Rib Buffet. The appetizer of Baked Spinach and Artichoke was to die for. And the service was great! I would highly recommend dining here for a great evening and a really cozy atmosphere. more

Dawg House Sports Bar Rocks! 12/7/2010

I was looking for a place to watch the Jets-Dolphins on a Sunday night with my friend from NY. This place had great atmosphere--crazy loud fans screaming throughout just what we wanted. You expect the food at a sports bar to suck but this didn’t (unfortunately the Dolphins did). Great burger, awesome, wings. They got a ton of flat screens with different games goin’ on. Been there a number of times now so I’ve tried a good chunk of the menu and I’ve yet to be disappointed. I guess they have ex-players in for big games. Went in on a Monday night, Mark Duper was there. Got an autograph for my nephew. Highly recommend it over Upper Deck. UD is near Gulf Stream but this place is literally in the casino. For some reason I never really thought of goin’ for the casino but I brought my girlfriend who HATES sports bars and it actually worked out perfect. She had the calamari which was surprisingly good. I had the roasted pork sandwich was excellent with better than average fries. She came because a friend told her they had virtual blackjack so she went onto the casino floor after we ate and had a great time. Some times sports bars can have snooty waitresses or girls behind the bar who think they’re hotter than they are. Not here, really friendly service. And you do occasionally get some smoking hot showgirls wandering around which is of course always nice. Overall my favorite sports bar no question. Get there early if there’s a big game because it can get crowded. more

Dawg House Sports Bar 12/5/2010

Dawg House Sports Bar Mardi Gras Casino Can’t Beat It 5 Stars Best sports bar in Hallandale, Hollywood or Fort Lauderdale hands down. I’m in there every Sunday to watch the Fins. $5 pitchers, great wings, great bugers (rolls aren’t) huge screen can’t beat it. Went back on Monday night and got Mark Dupers autograph, very cool. Highly recommend it. more

Relaxed Gaming Environment 5/5/2010

If you're looking for a relaxed slots/poker environment, than Mardi Gras is a place you could try. It's clean, has a lot of variety in slots including the Blackjack machines (very cool) and the poker room is nice as well. I don't eat there or do any racing stuff, but the slots and poker is good, and as a Players Club member I get decent prtomotions. Pros: relaxed atmosphere, number of slot machines, ease of access Cons: bit of an older crowd, not many bars more

Can't recommend it (for poker at least)... 5/19/2009

Overall, I can't recommend this place for anyone under 50. Simply put, they have a lot of slot machines, simulcast racing, and a tiny poker room. Since I'm not into slots or racing, I can't comment on that. I went there for poker and was disappointed. The poker room is small, not at all modern, and boring looking. The drink service is ok and the dealers were nice enough, but there was an inordinate amount of chip running needed, there was no players-card recording in the poker area, and the dispute handling was mediocre the one or two times I noticed any necessary. The good things are that it is 24hrs., which is basically the only poker place in the area that is. But that doesn't matter that much if they still don't have many people there. I went to go to an advertised tournament and I was the *only* person to show up for it. When I asked, they hadn't run any of their multi-table advertised tournaments in over a MONTH. That's simply poor. The decor is blah, with a vague attempt at a Mardi Gras theme. But getting into the place, trying to figure out where the entrance is from the parking lot, etc. is also fairly weak. Finally, the main crowd there was well past 60 with a lot of well known regulars. All in all, I simply can't recommend it. For more "fun" with bars and drinks and whatever else, I'd head to Hard Rock Seminole...for a more well-run poker room, I'd check out The Isle in Pompano instead. Pros: 24hr poker room Cons: Boring location/decor, very elderly crowd, mediocre poker more

  • New Orleans-themed glitz would be gaudy if it wasn't surrounded by a fleet of 1,100 slot machines, promising jackpot trickles for the right one-armed tug. Gamblers looking for quieter action can find hand-dealt solace in one of 30 poker tables, where Texas Hold-Em, Omaho Hi-Lo, and Seven Card Stud are the card games of choice. A pair of eateries and a lounge are there, providing dips and sips between the wagering of chips.
