a decent experience but was not happy when I asked the boss for his best price on a yamaha keyboard and he said ""There's NOBODY selling this for less!"". ok I bought it. arrived at home, and checked the internet. he wasn't even close! I paid him 189.99 pretax and the most I saw it advertised for was 129.99. what a creep! more

The music teachers are very good instructors and fine, decent, and reliable people. Richard Excellente has been teaching my son guitar for over three years, and I am delighted with his progress. Likewise, Hugo Vasquez has been teaching my daughter piano for over a year with proportionately good results. The owners and employees are all friendly, honest, good people who are knowledgable about their products. Merchandise prices are competitive with any online store. more

My wife and are committed Christians and value every single customer. Our teachers have been with this company 10 and 12 years respectively without complaint. 80 percent of our customers are other than caucasion and we have had no previous complaints.\r I don't have a clue as to why this anonomous person chose to slander us. Marathon Music center located in Boynton Beach is the Place for your inner musician to be. They changed ownership a while back, and that makes all the difference. The people are helpful and know their stuff. If like me the guitar is your poison, then you’re in luck. Rich Excellente is one “Excellente” teacher. When on vacation, I like to check-out the music stores in the area I happen to be. I was very surprised to find a Marathon Music in Boynton Beach and decided to check it against the ones I've seen in Hollywood, California and NYC. What I found was a professional and helpful staff. They didn't pounce on me the minute I walked-in like some 2-bit car dealership nor were they walking behind me breathing down my neck.\r \r Needless to say, the only trouble I had was when my wife seen me walking out with $3k worth of gear; but she calmed down once she seen how much it would've cost at the other stores in town! I went in to check out what gear they had and was really disappointed. Most of the place was bare and pretty over priced.\r \r On top of it the guys behind the counter stayed behind the counter and stared at me until I picked up something to try then it turned into a ""what do you need?"" I told them nothing and was told to ""be careful"". Really? Oh you mean I'm not on stage and suppose to trash equipment when I'm done playing it? F*** sorry.\r \r Don't bother with these guys. Do yourself a favor go 12 miles north Military to Guitar Center. I walked into Marathon with $2,000 to buy a new guitar and a new bass and didn't spend a dime, I walked into Guitar Center and spent it all. Marathon is a joke. Got all my gear from Marathon Music Center in Boynton and never had a problem. \r \r THE GUY WITH THE PONYTAIL (yeah, he is a D*CK) NOW WORKS AT THE WEST PALM BEACH STORE AND THEY ARE NO LONGER AFFILIATED WITH THE NEW Boytnon Beach store over by the mall. \r \r You can't really fault a store for not wanting someone to smudge up all the gear or have someone hack around when they clearly are not in the market for the merchandise; which is common in music stores. The employees get to know the customers and also know who just wants to waste time and kick tires.\r \r Even when I am up north for the summer, John or Larry will promptly ship whatever I need and the packing is better than if UPS did it... A+++++ Operation! Pros: Location, parking, close to Panera Bread and the mall Cons: nothing more
