Best

I know that they will take great care of my dog. I used to be a vendor for Maple Hills Vet and I saw how much love and care they give to their animals in the back... It was never ...

Worst

One star is being way too kind!!! This is the worst service and treatment I have ever had. Took my cat here because he was getting thin and I thought it was time to get a check...

Dog is ok 2/14/2012

I was freaking out about my dog because he was very sick. The staff here took care of my dog and me. Thankfully my dog is now in great health again and I am very pleased with the service and care we received more

Organized 2/3/2012

This is a good vet hospital. My puppy loves his visits to the vet now. He doesn't even mind the shots. They are gentle, organized and knowledgeable. They don't hurry you out the door at the end of your visit and they take a genuine interest in you and your pet's well being. more

BEST hospital for animals!!! 12/29/2011

BEST hospital for animals! My family and I have been taking our precious shitzu dogs there for several years. Our jake and jada have recieved phenomenal care from Dr Banzhoff, and the maple hills staff. As I am reading this other ""not so nice"" and ""untrue"" reviews in my opinion, I felt I needed to speak my piece. This animal hospital and its doctors and staff are amazing and so compassionate. They do so much for my dogs and us. It is just like any other business out there...there will be costs, and you need to pay the bill. Vet care is expensive anywhere you go, but if you love your animals they way I do...you will do it, and get what they need etc; I love maple hills because they offer care credit-(which I have and its awesome); they also will take any animal pet insurance etc; They will work with you, and help you. There number one goal is helping your pet receive 100% care. I have met almost everyone who works there, and they all LOVE the animals like its their own, and treat them like its their own pet. I also feel that Dr Banzhof-(I hope I am spelling his name right) is just amazing. Yes, you may have to wait sometimes for apptms, but thats because everyone wants to schedule with him because he is one of the best vets in the valley! He told me he has been in practice here for almost 38 years! Wow! He is board certified because I saw it on the one wall. (so that other review that said different was probably just from a disgruntled employee who didn't get their way with something). I have talked to other clients waiting in the waiting room just like me, and they said they dont mind waiting because they want him, and they know how good he is with their pets and them. They want the best. Ya know when Dr B is in the room with you, he makes you feel that you are the only one that matters, and he will spend a ton of time with you talking about your pet, and just talking to you to see how you are doing. He does a full on exam, and anything else that needs to be done. He gives you his full attention. (and the pet). He is a busy man, but he will drop everything to come and help you and your pet. It doesn't matter if he isn't even the doctor on call that evening or weekend...he will still come to your aid. He will even make house calls. He has even come one evening when he was with his family in Philly, and he wasn't even the doctor on call, but I wanted my jake to see him because he knows him, and dr B dropped what he was doing, and came to the hospital that night. He also really isnt supposed to see emergencies after 11pm-(I think they refer to valley central), but he still will see emergenices. He has many pets himself. He loves animals, and cares so much about them. He wants the best for them, and tries to help and heal them 100%. To me, he is just amazing. I am so glad that I go there. I know not everyone will have good experiences, but to me you cant go wrong with him or that place. The staff are always so helpful too and always smiling! They can always get me in for an apptm. Jada for example was vomiting the one night, and they were booked for apptms, but they said to come right over, and Dr b would examine her. I brought her over, and the tech came out and took her in the back, and then dr B came out and spoke with me about her. They are just all very nice and professional people. Plus...how many other animal hospitals out there do you know that also have 4 clinics that you can go too as well. I went to one of the clinics recently and it was so cozy and nice. Dr B goes to them too. He told me he has these clinics just for the clients, so they dont have to drive as far to the main hospital. To me...that is very selfless and nice. He even took my animal to the main hospital back with him from the clinic to get xrays etc; Now how many vets do that??? Think about it. This is the place you want to be!!! Sincerely, Jake and Jada's owners more

wonderful vet! 12/28/2011

My husband and I have been taking our pets to Maple Hills for years. Our shep mix Ginger has been in declining health for the past six months. We realized it was finally time to have her put to sleep as she was no longer eating or walking anymore. We had no idea how we were going to get her into the office as we are not in the best health ourselves. We spoke to Dr. Banzhof and he said he would come to our house to make it easier on us and our beloved Ginger. He made a very difficult time better for us and Ginger was able to pass peacefully surrounded by her family and in her own home. The compassion he showed us that day and Ginger's whole life will never be forgotten. It's nice to know there are still doctors out there that will make housecalls and treat their clients as friends and not just as a paycheck. We are forever grateful to Dr. B and all of the staff at the hospital. more

outstanding service!!!! 12/23/2011

Recently my dog jumped on the table and ate a chicken wing and was vomiting and could not pass the bone. I tried getting into my own vet but they said I would have to go to Valley Central as they were closing and were overbooked. I called Maple Hills on the off chance that they would be able to squeeze me in and thank goodness they did! Dr. Banzhof saw us immediately when we got in and took such wonderful care of our dog Jesse. She ended up needing immediate surgery as she never would have been able to pass the bone and it was stuck in her intestines. The staff and doctors there were so caring and took such wonderful care of my dog that I will definitely will be switching vets. Thank you all for saving my jesse!!!!!!!! more

Love Maple Hills! 12/23/2011

I was very pleased at the wonderful care I got at this facility. I am a client at Allentown Animal Clinic, and at 5 o'clock, this past Friday, my boxer, Maggie, fell over. I was completely panicked and called my vet. They told me they were closed and that Valley Central Emergency Clinic would open at SEVEN! I couldn't believe it. Maggie is 7 years old and they have been her vet since I brought her home at 8 weeks! I bring her consistently to the vet's office because of her constant ear infections. I was so upset. I called every veterinarian in the valley and either they wouldn't see a new client or they told me to take her to valley central at 7. I was petrified. Maggie was FALLING OVER and I felt she couldn't wait two whole hours! I finally got to the number for Maple Hills. I have never been there and expected them to brush me off also. I called and the phone was answered by an extremely pleasant woman. After sobbing to her that I thought Maggie was going to die she immediately told me to come in as soon as possible. I got there in ten minutes. I was hysterical, as Maggie wouldn't get up. I ran in crying and immediately two vet techs came out, brought Maggie in the back treatment room and allowed me to follow. They hugged me and were very comforting. Dr. Banzoff came in immediately. He introduced himself and got some basic background on Maggie. As soon as I told him about the ear infections, he checked her ears immediately. She had a severe inner ear infection that was causing her to fall over. They kept her overnight to try to reduce the inflammation in her ears and to get her mobile again. I received a phone call first thing in the morning by a veterinary technician who gave me a detailed update. I received another call at noon by another vet tech who had just taken over the other's shift and she called to introduce herself and give me an update. In the early afternoon Dr. Banzoff called me himself and spent literally over 40 minutes on the phone with me, patiently answering every one of my million questions! We set up a time for me to pick Maggie up that night. She WALKED out into the waiting room, vet tech in hand. She was almost 100% back to her normal self. The vet tech took at least a half hour sitting with me, telling me how much she loved Maggie and explained every single medicine to me, what it was, why she was taking it and how to give it and how often. When I left, I was literally crying because I was so happy that Maggie was okay. The vet tech hugged me and told me that if I had any problems at all to give her a call and she would be more then happy enough to talk to me. She gave Maggie hugs and kisses when we left. I just was there today for Maggies recheck appointment with Dr. Banzoff and I have had yet another wonderful experience. They were more then kind, understanding and informative. This is an extremely professional clinic, who handles themselves in a very friendly and caring matter. After I was there the very first time, I promptly called Allentown Animal Clinic and had them fax all of Maggie's records to Maple Hills. I will never go anywhere else! more

Avoid this place! 11/29/2011

Here's a brief rundown on the reasons I no longer patronize this vet: 1) Would have to wait an average of 60-90 minutes after scheduled appointment time. Yes, I know emergencies take priority, but this happened every single visit. 2) They have the surliest, nastiest, most disorganized staff I've ever encountered in customer service. They may love animals, but they sure do hate people. 3) Instead of removing the potentially cancerous lump on one end of my dog, they removed the harmless fatty lipoma from the other end of my dog. They didn't charge to correct their problem and Dr. B seemed embarrassed and was very apologetic, but their staff treated me and my husband like we were $hit on their shoes and that it was somehow our fault that they operated on the wrong lump.\r \r This place was decent many years ago, but it seems like now all they care about is money. They are pricey for the type and quality of services they offer, and the staff act like they're doing you a favor by taking more

Wonderful Vet Hospital! 4/27/2011

I feel offended by all these negative comments and am sorry for those of you that feel you have had a bad experience. Every single person that works here is here because of the LOVE of all animals. Your pets are treated with love and the best care available. The veterianarians are all very knowledgeable and kind hearted and want to do what is the best care for your pet. Yes you may have a wait but thats because the doctors never rush thier clients and will spend the time answering thier questions. This is an emergency hospital and a dying animal will take priority over a simple vaccine appointment. Those of you that understand this are greatly appreciated. As for the boarding kennels I dont understand your comments about dogs in poop. That does NOT happen. THe kennels are cleaned 3 times a day and no dog is ever left in its cage because its nasty. This is a wonderful vet hospital with a great and caring staff! more

never ever going back there! 4/19/2011

I wish I had found this site with all the bad reviews before I chose to use this facility. The doctor I got was definately on drugs. Her eyes kept rolling back in her head and she had a difficult time even talking! I was in shock that no one seemed to notice a drug addict is hired as a doctor at this place. I paid my bill and ran for the door and will never go back. I also didnt realize this was the place that hired a cold blooded murderer. Stay away people this place is a danger not only to the animals but people as well!!!!!!!! more

filthy kennel 4/11/2011

Oh my God! If you need to leave your animal at a boarding facility please do not go here. I was told my dog was too nasty and I needed to come back and get him myself. Well my poor baby was covered in his own poop because apparently he was not let out the 3 days he was there. The place back there is a pig sty! Filth doesnt even describe it. I saw dogs with empty water bowls and they also had poop in their cages. There was no kennel staff. The secrertartys take care of the dogs and they dont have the time to do it because they dont have enjough help as it is. I was also told my dog needed a heartworm amd lymes test which I paid an extra 42 bucks for and STIll dont know the results! Oh and they charge you 70 bucks for Huminlin N insulin.....Walmart sells it for 20 bucks and you dont even need a perscription. Just please if you love your dog dont board them here! Besides they hire murderers! more

selfish nasty vet and wife 4/8/2011

If you care for your animal NEVER take them to Maple Hills. The owners care only about your money. They will tell you your animal needs surgery when it really doesnt. They are so short staffed that animals DIE because no one can stay with them during recovery. Then they tell the owner something was wrong with its heart when it was really because no one was watching it suffer to breathe.\r They over work the girls and NEVER give raises. And when Jennifer Lyndsey Snyder was murdered he made everyone continue working and said if they wanted to get a paycheck we better work. Then he wouldnt even close for the funeral and made sure the place stayed open while Jennifer was being buried. They are selfish nasty people. Find another vet.....one that actually cares more about the animals than the money. more

Best vet practice ever 3/5/2011

I must say one of the best vet hospitals I have ever been too. I brought my cat there for the first time a few years ago because he wasnt urinating and was howling in pain and not moving much. I had called my regular vet but they were closed and do not offer their own personal emergency service. Even though I was a new client with a regular vet they were very clear on how emergent my situation was and had me come in immediately. My Pudders was ""blocked"", from what I understoodd he was unable to urinate and that was causing ""kind of like a toxic back up"" in his body where his bladder could rupture. Without treatment he could have died within hours. more

Get better staff 9/7/2010

I thought i was dealing with a good vet as well as a good staff. I paid them in 2009; however now they have no records to show that i paid!! \r \r When my dog had his operation back in 2009, the another staff member put a too small shield on him instead of a bigger one!!! So, then they made me pay for the second operation because it was their mistake that the original shield was too small. more

If you love your pet, you won't take them here. 8/15/2010

We took our dog to the Whitehall location because we found a lump in her mouth. The vet said it could be a tumor, but not to worry. Then he proceeded to say "but who am i to say that, my dog had something similar and she died." Surgery was scheduled for the next morning. The secretary at the main location was rude from the beginning. She asked me which tooth needed to be removed and I said I wasn't sure. She said, "then how do we know which one to remove?" Um. I didn't know that was my responsibility. That was July 13th. Now it is August 15th and we have yet to hear back about the biopsy results. They told us we would hear back in 10-14 business days. We have called 5 times and no one is helping us. We payed them over $1,000, you would think they would care. more

Empathetic and Kind 8/9/2010

I would highly recommend the Kressler Rd location of Maple Hills Veterinary Hospital. They have taken such good care of my cat over the years right down to her last day on earth. When I had to put her to sleep it was the hardest decision that I had to make; the doctor was so empathetic and kind- I know I made the right choice. more

Have Had Great Experiences 6/8/2010

I sympathize with the other reviewers who had bad experiences, but I can only go by my own experiences which have been wonderful. One of my dogs had back surgery that entirely changed him back to the dog we had versus the floor rug he had become. I also had an accidental after hours chocolate ingestion with another of my dogs. Maple Hills was wonderful and absolutely saved my pups life. Another of my dogs broke her foot on ice...once again, great emergency service. I admit that wait times are often long and they are very frequently way off schedule, but they also spend as much time as needed with each pet and I'm willing to wait for that kind of attention. more

We Will Never Go Back 12/31/2009

We have been taking our dog to Maple Hills for his entire life (almost 6 years) and were always happy with them. However, yesterday he ingested a poison, and when we called they told us to "keep an eye on him and look for symptoms of illness." They also told us that they didn't carry the antidote recommended for this common poison that dogs ingest, and that they would do a blood transfusion if he began to show symptoms of poisoning. I was not comfortable with this answer, so I made a couple of phone calls to another vet and someone I know who has worked with dogs for 20+ years, and was told by both of them the urgency of the situation and that he needed to be seen and treated right away. If we had waited for him to show symptoms of poisoning it would most likely have been too late to save him. This is, in my opinion, so incredibly irrisponsible that they minimized such a life threatening situation. My family's dog, the beloved pet of my 9 and 6 year old sons, would most likely ha more
