The food has gone down hill. My husband 3/7/2012

The food has gone down hill. My husband and I like to eat there on special occasions and last Saturday was our last time. They changed all of the side vegetables and added weird things to the usually good traditional food (jalapenos and sauce on the calamari?). Definately not worth $18.95 a plate. more

Great experience 11/30/2011

We celebrated a birthday at Manzana last night. We enjoyed a comfortable, relaxing space for our large group, our server was experienced and pleasant and the food was tasty and up to our expectations. The complimentary banana-caramel dessert was an unexpected treat--definitely save room and order this decadent dessert. more

Rip Off - Terrible 11/17/2011

We used to go to Manzana all the time when the previous group owned it. (when it was great). We tried it when the new owners took over a few years ago and said we would never go back. They raised the food and drink prices and it just wasnt' the same. Two friends asked me to meet them for lunch a couple of weeks ago, so I thought, ok, I will give it a try. I could not believe how expensive they were. I ordered a half sandwich and a cup of soup. They charged $11, which was ridiculous since it was a tiny cup of soup and a half sandwich so small I was shocked when it arrived at the table. No fruit, nothing to go with it. I would give anything if the old group still owned it. We always had great service, good food and drink prices. For my money, I will go to Oswego Grill, which is so much better. more

Downright horrible 8/25/2010

I am spoiled from living in a city with diversity and culture. Those two things don't exist in this pathetic city of Lake Oswego where it is known that years ago they called it Lake No Negro. I'm ashamed and appalled to live where there are only Caucasians proudly running around. Manzana has the worst food and it was served cold. The waitress was slower than slow and it wasn't busy during our meal time. When she finally arrived to give us the bill, we weren't finished ordering and wanted a dessert which turned out to be disgusting, dried up and old. Not home made and let's just say, we are happily leaving Lake Oswego and the unfortunate restaurants in this all white area. more

Manzana Happy Hour 8/25/2010

They have a great happy hour menu! more

Drive by often, stopped once... 8/8/2010

We didn't have a good experience here. Ordered a burger with no sauce, came out with plenty. Ordered a salad, tasted like cheap bagged lettuce that was dryed out. Seemed no different than an applebee/red robin type restaurant. more

Eh, not bad not good. 5/20/2010

I grew up in Lake O. I like this place for the water atmosphere. The food is a little Stanfords like. All in all its good for a family get together or for close friends to have drinks and a appetizers. more

great place for special occasions/anniversaries!!!! 2/9/2010

we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary this last wknd and actually had reservations for another place on mon. 02/08/10, just down the road: oswego lake house, made it an hour before hand and checked out lake oswego, driving around for 45min and noticed the mazana rotisseri grill right by, we were drawn to the placed, beautiful bldg, goreous area, our first time in lake oswego, we're always up for an adventure!! so we told ourselves that we would check out that place next time we're here and made it to our 5pm rsvp at the lake house, but checked out their menu and was very disappointed due to the expensive/way out our budget: ala carte, the sides were sold by itself.....so we decided to give manzana a try, just walked down the road and the atmophere was very romantic, dark & cozy w/intimate ambient lighting and still had a view of the sunset on the lake. the menu was great and affordable!! my fiance had the fire roast chicken w/mashed red potatoes & greenbeans and i had the southwestern chicken w/penne pasta in a red pepper suace!! delicious, we were both satisified and had a great time, eating my left overs right now. this was one of the best anniversary dinners ever, we give them 5+ stars! love the food, great service. oh an plus they gave us a free big slice of cheescake for out anniversary :) with a candle on top. (i did recall telling the host that it was our 10yr on the way to our table and wasn't assuming they would do that) I was very impressed on their great service!!!! we will return and higlhy recommend to everyone!!!! Pros: best rotisseri chicken ever! more

Nice Atmosphere, Average Service, Poor Food 6/11/2009

This restaurant is all show and no action. The location, the look and feel, the atmosphere, all suggest a great restaurant and great food.\r \r The food is a huge let down.\r \r I had the signature Santa fe chicken enchilada.\r \r It consisted of corn tortillas piled on top of pinto beans and chicken. Most of the chicken was brown meat (that's fine actually) but that is it. The Meal was covered with 1/2 green sauce and 1/2 red sauce neither of which were good and combined were awful.\r \r the only side dish was WHITE RICE (literally). No flavor at all. Just a little cilantro chopped and sprinkled on top. I had my wife taste it and she actually laughed and commented ""It's Literally white rice"".......\r \r Her meal was the chopped turkey salad and she said it was ""OK"" and indicated that it reminded her of the salads at Olive Garden.\r \r Any way.....the restaurant is 'Ok' but the food is well below average.\r \r I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you're just heading down there for the nice environment and a few drinks. Pros: the location is beautiful and the restaurant is very cozy Cons: The Food is really quite poor more

Great food, slow service 5/7/2009

My wife and I love the food at Manzana. The rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes are no less than excellent, the salmon sandwiches are great and their chopped salad is fantastic on a hot, sunny day. The only reason we rarely go to Manzana any more is the fact that 75% of the time we're there, the service is so slow that we have to speak to the manager. Even the manager forgot about us once. Ouch. Again, excellent food. Nice interior design. But one shouldn't have to go through hoops to get service. Pros: rotisserie chicken, fish sandwiches, mashed potatoes Cons: occasionally very slow service more

Great restaurant overall 2/10/2009

The atmosphere at Manzana was upscale, comfortable and intimate feeling. The service was superb and they were very attentive to keeping drinks refilled and making sure we had everything we needed. During 4-6, they have a deal where you can get soup or salad, an entree, dessert and beverage. I had a caesar salad that had a good, flavorful dressing and lots of shaved parmesan cheese with fresh ground pepper. For the main entree I had their baby back ribs which were incredibly tender and the best I have ever had in Oregon (substituted mashed potatoes for the french fries). For dessert I had a traditional cheesecake which was pretty good.\r \r I will definately be going back again and recommend it to others. Pros: First Seating (the deal between 4-6), good food, service, and ambience Cons: Can be expensive more

Terrible Service! Really bad service!! 2/19/2008

I've been here three times because I like the food but seriously, where is the service?? The food is good though. Pros: Good Food Cons: Terrible Service more

Enjoyable alfresco dining but average fare 6/25/2007

Nice elevated patio overlooking the lake with some unusual Southwest dishes will likelyl mean a return visit. Beware of entrees with the roasted chicken like the stacked enchilada. They do a poor job of removing the gristle, bone, and sinew. Me thinks overpriced given the quality in preparing the meal and the somewhat average taste. The margarita was a watered-down version of lemonade. more

enjoyed everything 5/14/2007

I have been to Mazana twice now and just recently went to eat for Mothers Day. The restaurant was very busy this day but that didn't seem to matter because we had excellent service from when we walked into the door. Our waiter was very friendly and was able to answer many of our questions regarding the menu and drinks. Our food was wonderful tasting and had no complaints about any of the menu items that we ordered. Very tasty!!! The atmosphere was also relaxing and kept up nicely. I would recommend Manzana to any one. Pros: alot or food choices for every one more

Decent food, horrific service!!! 2/22/2007

Given the fact that this is a chain restaurant, the food is passable. The presentation and the service, however, is extremely poor. It all started when the hostess was letting a customer out the door, she let the door shut in our faces as we were coming in. Then, we had to stand and wait until she was done talking to her co-worker about her hot date last night. I figured it would only get better from here, and it did. We were a party of 4 celebrating a special occasion on Saturday and ordered 4 drinks, 2 bottles of wine, 2 starters, 4 entrees, etc. Both the gentlemen of the table ordered the 14oz prime rib. While, it was prepared to their liking the cuts were VERY inconsistent. One was 9-10 oz and the other 14oz. It was obvious she made a mistake in our order. We politely asked the waitress if she recalled that both men had ordered the same (14oz), as it appeared one was correct and the other not. Her reply was, ""I have no clue, I don't have good depth perception."" We weren't asking how she scored on her visual acuity test, but if she actually got the orders correct. (No, she wasn't blond) AND yes, we were charged for 2-14oz prime ribs, but were served, two different orders. And yes, we paid the full amount, plus tip, because we were out celebrating and didn?t want to raise a fuss. When the bill was placed on the table, we asked for coffee. It finally came after 5-10 minutes, but we had to flag other servers down for a second cup. Our server was not only sarcastic and air headed but had a vanishing act on the side. It appears the entire joint is run by teenagers, who have no idea what good service is. We will NEVER dine there again. AND, we recommend to ALL our friends, neighbors and family to avoid Manzana in Lake O. This is unacceptable! Pros: In our neighborhood Cons: Service, attitude and no adults more

Good food, poor service 11/21/2006

Although I love their tortilla soup and salads, everytime I've been to this location service is quite poor. Most recently some friends and I waited 30 minutes before someone took our order, and then even after we told our server we were in a hurry it took another 30 minutes to bring out our food. How long does it take to prep and bring three salads and two cups of soup out? Pros: tortilla soup, parking Cons: service more

My Favorite Place 9/10/2006

I love this place and always bring my out-of-towners in for a great meal. The atmosphere is calming and inviting. The waitstaff is warm, sincere, and always attentive. And the food is always wonderful- flavorful with beautiful presentation. I recommend this place to everyone I know and can say with certainty that it by far the best overall dining experience I have had in the Portland area in my 3 years living here. Pros: lighting, waitstaff, cuisine Cons: long wait on weekends, expensive drinks more

A Real Find 2/16/2006

Ever now and then you walk into a place where you are greeted properly and seated swiftly. The service was great, the food was world class. A real find. Pros: Decor, Service, Food Cons: Location more

Hello, is anybody home? 1/25/2006

I haven't even made it to the restaurant yet. I am just trying to get someone to pick up the phone and take my reservation. I have contacted the Lake Oswego location 4 different times tonight to make reservations. The phone just rings and rings and rings...at least 20 times per ring. This is poor service even before we can get to the restaurant. The Portland location picks up on the 3rd ring. No problem. Maybe the Lake Oswego restaurant needs a new manager. more

User review by cviolet 8/7/2005

I came to this restaurant in Lake Oswego expecting to have a relaxing evening with a group of girlfriends and it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. The staff all seemed like they didn't want to be there. They were not personable or really very friendly at all. They brought out the appetizers and then the salads right away. I was only a few bites into my salad when a waiter came and told me to move my plate because the entree was hot and dumped it down in front of me. We had all these plates of food without anywhere to put them . They brought out our bill right away without asking us if we were ready. It was like they were trying to hurry us through the evening. The food was average and definitely expensive for the atmosphere and service. Pros: Good Parking Cons: Overprices, No Atmosphere, Bad Service more
