Excellent Experience 12/13/2013

Great Service. Extremely cold and I'm sure their phones where ringing off the hook, but they offered my service that evening and the serviceperson arrived last evening. He quickly diagnosed the furnace, discussed our options without being pushy or trying to sell me anything unneeded. He then proceeded to make the repair.\r I feel the cost was very reasonable. Many of my neighbors use them also. more

The most honest heating company 12/8/2011

I've been a repeat customer for years but this year I found a competitors coupon to service my furnace for less money. I called the competitor and all they wanted to do was sell me a new furnace and a service contract. I sent the competitor away without paying (because he didn't do anything but try to sell me stuff) I then called Manwill. Manwill called me before they dispatched their technician, he showed up on time in a clean uniform, performed my furnace tuneup and showed me the checklist items he performed. When it came time to collect for services the bill was $79.00, I handed him a $10 off coupon from their website and he reduced the bill to $69. I am very pleased. I did ask him if I needed a new furnace like the other company said and he informed me that my furnace should last another 10 plus years. Great customer service. Honest and reliable. more

Professional, Knowledgeable 9/6/2011

I have had plumbing issues with my basement toilet ever since I moved into this home 6 months ago. Another company I was working with installed a new toilet and it continued to have problems. I was told that I needed a new, more powerful, expensive toilet to solve my problem. I called in Manwill and they discovered that the toilet flange was offset and that there was a piece of metal that was causing the toilet paper to catch on it and accumulate, thus causing the plumbing issues. They were professional and knowledgeable and honest. more

Great company and people to work with 4/29/2010

I recently had a high efficient furnass installed into my home. Katy came out to my home to give me a free estimate and was very informative and professional. The installation crew that was sent to my home, did such a good job, very friendly. It was so clean. I would recommend this company to anybody. more

perfect service call 4/7/2010

Technician arrived on time. Fixed the issue in about 20 minutes. Didn't charge me above the diagnostic fee. Did not try to sell us stuff we didn't need. Was very courteous and respectful. What more can you ask from an HVAC company? You've earned a repeat customer! more

Good service counter 3/19/2010

I have picked up parts from them twice. They helped me find some difficult to identify bearings. Good experience. Probably a little expensive Pros: Good service Cons: unknown more

The best ever! 8/6/2009

Another company came out and charged us $49 to tell us we needed a new air conditioner. We called Manwill's and they offered a free diagnostic. They found we had a bad motor on our air conditioner. They gave us a price and we told them to go ahead with the repair. They did it right on the spot! They didn't try to sell us anything else! No pressure! Just good honest people! Pros: Honest, reliable and on time more

Review from a consumer 11/15/2008

I can't speak to the other reviewers problems with Manwill (he's a contractor, worked with them from that side of things), but the first time I called Manwill Plumbing, I called them to redo all the pipes in my house -- 2 guys came out, they seemed very cool, and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. They recommended a couple things to be cheaper than I might have otherwise bought (because they'd work just as well or better). All in all I was very impressed. I have called them twice since related to my air conditioning system, once because the previous installer (not Manwill) didn't configure the panel properly, and once because the unit was icing up. Both times they walked me through what I needed to do over the phone, and didn't charge me a dime. I figured I had to come online and give a good recommend -- I found them through some kind of review (can't remember exactly where now). Anyway -- highly recommended :) more

Worst HVAC Contractor I Have Ever Had The Misfortune of Hiring! 7/12/2008

As a full time builder and property manager for the past 16 yrs I have worked with many different subcontractors in many different cities. Manwill Heating and Air Conditioning stands out--even five years later--as one of the worst. \r \r Manwill was hired to install a Trane air conditioning system in a beautiful turn of the century house that I restored in the Avenues neighborhood in Salt Lake City. Because of the area and the value of the home I was willing to pay the extra $$$ for a Trane system--generally considered as one of the top brands in HVAC.\r \r From the get go I got the feeling that these guys did not have much of a clue what they were doing. Of the many mistakes and sloppy workmanship they perpetrated, here are a few of the most egregious:\r \r 1. The idiot installer hooked up 240v wire to a 120v blower motor--which immediately burned up. So, there goes my factory blower motor, replaced with who knows what. I only found this out because I was up in the attic after the ins more

The best contractor I've ever dealt with ! 5/13/2008

They're GREAT to work with! They did exactly what their bid said! Plus, they were on time! The final price was exactly as quoted, plus their price was very competitive compared to the other bids I received. They cleaned up when the job was done. The best experience I've ever had with a contractor! I highly recommend this company ! ! Don't bother calling other companies, just call these guys, they're the best ! ! more

OK reviews, but huge price for their services. 3/27/2008

I called to get a price. 69.00 for them to come to the front door and $22.00 for every 15 min. If you do the math that is $104.00 per hour!!! If you only need them for one hour you are paying $200.00 bucks. I researched on the internet on cost for a tank-less water heater. The best tank is $1000.00 and the labor is usually $1000.00. Manwill quoted me $4000.00 bucks for a tank-less water heater!!!! They seem to get generally good reviews on the internet but the price is just way too inflated!!! more

No way!!! 11/26/2005

When I tried to light my water heater, the gas seemed to be rolling upon itself instead of going up the flue. Called Manwill Plumbing. The technician came out and told me I would have to replace the water heater AND all the vents even though it was less only 7 years old (and in a home that was not in use for 2 of those 7 years). Estimated bill came to about $800. I got a second opinion who told me that the valve was a different brand than the water heater and it wasn't compatible. A third opinion told me the same thing: incompatible valve on the water heater. It only cost me $95 for parts and labor to replace the valve....oh, except for the $65 I had to pay to Manwill for their ""expert diagnosis"". more

Yep, they'll fix it 5/12/2002

I've called on Manwill several times for everything from a leaking water heater to a new A/C system. Prices are fair, people are friendly and everything works -- so who can complain? Pros: Quality work more
