Man's Ruin Tattoo & Piercing

I am a Marine and just returned from active duty overseas. I went to Mans Ruin because of the name and because of their website. I was not disappointed. I got the best tattoo so far that I have gotten anywhere. (And I have been collecting all over the world) I will get another one before my next deployment. After I had a wonderful experience getting my tattoo I feel compelled to write a review. I never do this for businesses but I really had an amazing experience. Heather did my tattoo and prior to this I was always afraid to get a tattoo. I was concerned about the cleanliness being in the medical field my whole life. I have to say that Heather was as aware,if not more aware than some of the nurses I have worked with over the years about being clean. The conversation was great and I couldnt have had a better time. I am here to give my 100% testimonial! From start to finish everything was absolutely perfect. The studio was mature and just a well run establishment.I wasnt even considering another tattoo until now. Just great,ladies! more

This place was great! The ladies were very nice and helpful. The whole studio was beyond clean, it looked like a hospital room. It made feel like not only was i getting an awesome tattoo but I knew that they didn't cut corners. I dont mind paying a little extra if i know that it is clean and safe. i would 100% recommend this place. more

After reading the reviews for several studios in the Asheville area,we decided upon Mans Ruin to get our tattoos for Valentines Day! We can say that they lived up to all the positive reviews and more. We picked out what we wanted and with their advice we set up our appointment and got out tattoos. They were on time and very courteous. We will go to them again in the future,even with a 4 hour drive to get to Asheville. Its worth it! more

My friend and I went to Mans Ruin just recently. We had been in town and figured it may be a cool place. We had a really great experience. The ladies were very nice and we felt at home. It was by far not the sterotypical tattoo shop. I would tell everyone to go. We love it there and will always come back! more

We have been clients of Mans Ruin Tattoo for years and we have had beautiful work done everytime. The girls are always friendly. We wouldnt go anywhere else for tattoos. Seeing the photo below is obviously fake. more

I had the best experience at this shop. The girls were so patient and kind to me. They took the time to draw the tattoo I wanted and did the tattoo for me. She went over the care very well and took the time to tell me everything in detail. I am a medical professional and I must say it was a very clean shop. I would recommend this shop very highly to anyone wanting a tattoo! Pros: Very clean. Patient. Nice. Cons: Doesnt take credit cards more

The last review I read was the farthest from my experience. I had a custom tattoo drawn,which took a week to draw because they were quite busy.She explained that it may take up to two weeks. I got the phone call to come in to look at the drawing. I asked for a few changes that were made on the spot to my liking. I made my appointment and got my tattoo within the next two days. Never did I feel rushed or treated in a wrong way. My tattoo is great and has wonderful balance. I cant see anything true about the last posting. I've been there twice. Once for a tat, and once to have it fixed and another small piece added. (BTW: She wouldn't do any touch ups or repairs, even on her own work, for less than $75.) The artist still did a sloppy job on the repair and addition: The tat had uneven lines, little blobs of ink where it should not have been, and although it was a supposed to be a simple symmetrical design, the final product was quite asymmetrical. I wanted to give Man's Ruin another chance, because I really wanted to support a woman-owned business. However, my experience indicates that the artist is not very good (or maybe she was just really tired). I don't know. I'm so disappointed... and I have a bad tattoo. Had my first body piercing (navel, by Zoe) about 7 weeks ago at Man's Ruin. I liked the staff and atmosphere so much that I decided to return for my second tattoo that I had been contemplating for some time. I picked out my design and Heather performed the tattooing.
