we are new to the Austin area. My wife and I needed to find a good eye dr and we were told about the Mann Institute from a friend who uses them. I made my initial appointment ...

Pros: The Mann Eye Institute has a clean office, new equipment, smart doctors, state of the art techniques, etc.\r \r Cons: They will rip you off and front desk has poor customer service.\r \r I called to schedule an annual routine eye exam which is 100% covered by insurance. I left with a $280 bill. Because I mentioned that I had an 'eye twitch' while scheduling the appointment, the routine eye exam magically turned into a ""medical appointment"". What could I do about it after? Nothing. I called twice to resolve and never received a call back.\r \r I will not return to Mann Eye. Bring your business elsewhere. more

Really great experience - very impressed! 2/6/2007

I researched online and it looks like the Mann Eye Institute uses the best laser available in the US. Their pricing is extremely comparable to all the other clinics I researched in the Austin area, and they have very good pricing options, too! You can get a one year no interest payment plan. Their package is also one of the best in the industry, including 2 year enhancements if needed, and all post-ops up to 6 months. I just had my surgery done 5 days ago and I was extremely impressed with the level of service I received from everyone from their satellite clinic to Dr. Mike Mann himself. He was very precise, exacting and extremely amiable. I felt very comforable and at ease during my day of surgery and you get a feel that everyone wants to make sure you have the best experience, ever. I have one friend who's also had her LASIK done with Dr. Mann 2 years ago and she still says it's the best thing she's ever done. My eyes are still healing but already I can tell the difference. It's fantastic. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else and I will recommend the Mann Eye Institute to anyone that needs LASIK surgery done! Pros: expertise, service, pricing options, technology, 2 years enhancements, all post ops included in price Cons: LASIK pricing will always be quite pricey! more

Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. 10/27/2006

Large waiting room with a full window wall to look into the operating room. They have free sodas, water, chips, cookies, and candy in the waiting room. Help yourself. The procedure was painless and quick. I felt very relaxed when I was there. Surgery on Oct 14, 2006. more
