I do not know what kind of stylists they have but I was given on of the worst stylists not just in NYC but possibly the world...its to the point where i would have given myself a better haircut in the dark with a pair of pre-school scissors. I am a male who went in there looking for a basic trim, the guy literally started off by hacking off the side of my head, which is exactly the opposite of what i asked for. I look like a complete idiot right now and am embaressed to even go outside....NEVER GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. more

Well, sorry but my experience was WAY different. They booked me for a time, I arrived promptly, and there were no chairs for me. Waited a good 45 minutes and was denied the next available chair ""because it was booked!"" even though I had an appointment also, and the person who booked the chair was not even there yet! Then, when all was said and done, the stylist did not even give me the same massage they all gave everybody else. I am a clean, well-dressed OLDER woman. I guess I was just too unappealing to be touched. Very nice, guys. Pros: None I can think of. Cons: Made appointment, but they overbooked-had to wait 45 minutes more

great haircut by Yuki. My hair is a beast but he took the time to meticulously cut his way through it. He was very friendly and thorough. they wash your hair twice and then give you a shoulder and neck massage all for about $50. A great find. I got my hair cut at Manish yesterday with Yuki and it was my best hair salon experience! I am an intern in NY and needed a good somewhat affordable haircut. I was very comfortable with Yuki, and it's true what reviewers have said on Yelp, they are very detail-oriented at Manish. Yuki explained everything he did as he did it and discussed my options thoroughly with me. My haircut is awesome because he worked with my heavy bangs from my last haircut and left me with a very versatile yet low maintenance cut. I love it! Worth every penny. Thanks Yuki! My girl friend had her updo for her wedding at Manish 2 months ago and she loved it! Yuki did an amazing job and her hair turned out to be exactly like the one she want from the magazine. I never tried japanese hairdresser, so I decided to give it a try. Cute Miho Jiang is my hairdresser, she is not only a great stylist, she also not afraid to give me advice. As i showed her the images of the hairstyle with fringe i like, she gave me honest and professional advice. Instead of trimming straight fringe above my eye brow, she suggested and gave me a more feminine touch. I swear!!! after her magic touch, i realized that my ""old hairstyle"" is a disaster with NO STYLE!!! and i love my new hair style, after the makeover, I went shopping around 59th/Lexington, i received some heads turn from both men and women! So I'm in Manhattan for the summer on an internship and needed a haircut desperately. I researched a bunch of different places and most were 90 dollars min for a haircut...where i'm from, that is madness. My coworker referred me to Daichi at Manish and I am sooooooooo happy, perhaps the happiest i've ever been with a haircut. I was a little nervous getting bangs and wanted some change. He listened carefully and made sure to cut everything perfecty, its so easy to style now and that is a sign of a great haircut! Thanks Daichi!!!!!! more

Absolutely PERFECT cut from Daichi!!! Junior stylist is $45.00. Senior stylist is $60.00. Not sure if it really matters, but Daichi is a senior stylist and the experience was great! The shampoo includes a nice scalp massage and Daichi really listened to what kind of cut I was looking for. He was very perceptive and took his time making it look just right! Amazing value...will definitely be back! Oh another great thing was that an appointment wasn't necessary! Definitely hard to find a deal like this in Manhattan!! Pros: No appt necessary, not crowded, great service Cons: can't think of anything more
