Besides maybe Mulberry's in Beverly Hills, this pizza is the best in Los Angeles. I dont know what the dude two below me is talking about, but the service is awesome. Whether I'm...

Worst

average california attempt at NY pizza. Not bad, but not great. For better pizza in the area I recommend Paisano's in Hermosa 1st, Beach Pizza 2nd.

Shouldn't even be in the top 100 6/21/2006

#1 two years in a row? Are people insane???!!! The pizza at this place is terrible. Don't bother coming here - frozen pizza is better. more

THis pzza is terrible 5/11/2006

I don't know if it is the style (NY) or the place; Pizza was thin and tasteless - like a piece of cardboard; I'll never eat here or another NY 'style"" pizza; Cons: terrible pizza more

Manhattan Pizza? had to try it! 11/8/2005

Living in Manhattan we couldn't pass it up. Lucky for us it really was NY style pizza - sauce had just the right spice, plenty of cheese and the crust to die for! Wait staff very friendly. the only drawback was it was even noisier than a NYC pizzaria. Several televisions - two different basketball games, a movie and radio were all blasting at the same time. Not a good ambiance for holding much of a conversation but the pizza was divine!!!! Were giving it all four thumbs up!!! Pros: great value, friendly staff, good location Cons: noisy more

Thank god I don't live in New York 7/12/2005

If this is supposedly great authentic New York style pizza, then New Yorkers have about as much taste as I have always thought. How can anyone actually like to pay so much for a tiny pizza that doesn't taste all that great? Pros: Convenient Cons: Little pizza, High price, cardboard crust more

YOU ARE RIGHT 7/2/2005

Citysearch has finally nailed it. I always look at you recommendations before choosing a restaurant. I must say i do not always agree. However when I swa thet Manhattan Pizzeria in Manhattan beach was voted number 1, I had to add my 2 cents. The place is GREAT. I have going there for the past couple of years. I have got to tell you it just keeps getting better and better. I have read several of the reviews that are posted and I caanot top some of the allocades that have been heaped upon them. Their pizza is second to none and in addition they offer NY. style ""Italian Ices"" If they could add Potato Knishes to their menu I would feel like I never left home. Pros: Great Location, Great Pizza, Great Atmospher more

Unbelievable 6/27/2005

I can not believe this place is highly recommended. I had a pizza delivered, that was the only good part. All they had was ""new York style"" (thin crust). It was so thin there were actually holes in the crust. Next time I want a pizza I think I will drive to COSTCO!! The only way I would eat this ""pizza"" again would be if I was starving, my truck broke down right in front of the joint, it was the only place open for 5 miles, and they were giving it away. more

Traveled 3,000 miles for GREAT pizza 6/11/2005

To qualify as a pizza EXPERT one had to grow up in Brooklyn, N.Y. I, a real New Yorker ( even ran a subway train for 28 years ) know about pizza, so forget-about-it. I took a trip to L.A. recently and met a young dude who had the same (eloquent) Brooklyn accent as myself. I told him I missed good, inexpensive Italian heros and pizza. He recommended Manhattan Pizza near the beach. Some things in life are sacred to a tough New Yorker. Great pizza is one of them. I challenged the guy behind the counter to meet my expectations. I was more then surprised when I finished the first of many slices. I didn't think a pizza joint in L.A. could compare with true New York but Manhattan Pizza did. By the way, L.A., one day Brooklyn is going to take back our Dodgers. Pros: authentic, friendly, good prices more

Hungry in LA 6/8/2005

I was born and raised in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, I moved to LA about 10 years ago. While in Brooklyn I think I ate Pizza everyday. When I got to LA I tried to find good Pizza. The Pizza I did find was so bad I actually stopped eating it or even trying new places. I was resorting to only having Pizza when I went back for visits with Family or Friends. I once tried to have a friend fedex me a pizza from the Spumoni Gardens on 86th street. That is until a friend told me about Manhattan Pizzeria in Manhattan Beach. They really nailed it. Pizza is Great,Sauce is just like I have always known and loved and they are not stingy with the cheese. They even have Lemon Ices which they scoop into a paper cup. Pros: Good Food, Beer & Wine, Great Service more

Best Pizza on the West Coast 6/6/2005

Manhattan Pizzeria is a family run place that is by far the best pizza on the west coast. more

We're all from NY 6/6/2005

well at least we think we are when we eat there. I eat this about once a week or so and i never tire of it. The deliver guys are really cool and, even if it is a little small, the service is fast and the pizza is great. who needs new york when you've got manhattan pizzeria. Pros: Delicious, Fun/Homley atmosphere, Reasonably priced more

Bitchin 6/6/2005

This place is awesome! The Pie is AMAZING. Its just like I stepped out of NYC!!!!!!!!!!! more

best pizza ever 6/5/2005

best pizza plus great place to hang out, good music more

You can not compare apples and oranges 3/31/2005

Personally, this is the only pizza I will eat in the South Bay. I hate thick crust Chicago style pizzas but that is my taste. The gourmet style pizzas in some restaurants are ok but again that is not my taste. For those who want a NY style pizza it is great. Don't compare it to Chicago style or Sicilian because it is not suppose to be that style. If that is the type you are looking for you may be disappointed but if you are looking for a NY style pizza pie it's the best I have tasted outside of NY. more

OUTSTANDING! 6/13/2004

Manhattan Pizzeria really nailed it. I am from Brooklyn and this pizza place is up there with Brooklyn's best Pizzerias. Everyone needs to make Manhattan Pizzeria part of their daily diet. Pros: Great Staff, Great Food, Great Location more

This is the best 4/6/2004

This pizza was great. Just like I had in Manhattan in New York City. The curst was perfect and the sauce just like my mama makes as the say. The services was friendly and ambiance was quaint. The menu was outstanding as it offered lots more than pizza. Pros: food, price, options more

Best south beach pizza 6/29/2003

This place looks like it can't be any good, but it is. And it's very good. It isn't Joe Peeps, but it is the best of south beach. Pros: deluxe pizza Cons: parking, ambiance more

not the best 1/19/2003

average california attempt at NY pizza. Not bad, but not great. For better pizza in the area I recommend Paisano's in Hermosa 1st, Beach Pizza 2nd. more

Overrated pizza 11/22/2002

I've tasted better sicilion pizzas than this. it's too small for it's price, and the new york style doesn't seem big enough to be 'new york style'. Stuft Pizza is 10 times better. it's overrated! Pros: Near the beach Cons: parking, a little overpriced more

When the moon hits your eye 8/29/2002

Absolutely the best pizza on the left side of the Mississip. Even better atmosphere with great music and views of the ocean. more
