My name is Julie, I am the owner of The Man Cave Exchange Consignment Store and also we purchase outright. I started the business 3 years ago and have over 1015 consignors and many more sellers and buyers. I am an honest business woman who has an iron clad contract. My consignors sign a contract stating that I consign customer’s items 60-90 days and after 100 days item become property of store if customers do not return for it. I am a consignment store, not a storage unit. Customers are responsible to check in and pick up items, I do not call anyone. \r When you bring in your items into the store, we price and tag each item, while customer is in the store. Each customer leaves with a receipt of what they brought it and what we priced it at. Also the receipt is dated. \r I am sorry that the woman that wrote defamatory lies against me did not read the contract correctly or never bothered to come pick up her item, that she seems so upset about. If she was so worried then why did she never come back to pick it back up?\r All consignment stores, auto repair and other types of businesses work the same way. If items are left for a certain amount of time they become the businesses where they were left. \r I have done nothing wrong, and she has harassed me, and threatened me. I also have contacted my attorney and have contract Ms. Potter singed. I do feel bad, but this is a business and she did not follow the contract. \r I have a great business and many loyal followers; we are growing and will soon be doing firearms. \r Thank you\r more

My Husband & I entered into a consignment agreement with The Man Cave Exchange in Hastings, MN, for the sale of our car tow dolly in Oct, 2012. We paid $1200 for the dolly used, and used it ourselves only twice for short local trips. Blue book was $1000 when we went to sell and included a full tow vehicle light package, tow straps, and spare tire.\r Ms. La Favor, Owner, said that she would try for $1000, but may have to go as low as $800 to make the sale for the right buyer. She said that she did not want to leave items for long and if she couldn't sell it, would contact us to pick it up.\r Truth be told, we forgot about it until this April(2013). When I called Ms. La Favor, she informed me that she had sold it several months ago and would send us a check for $600. ""This is the best I could do and I had to move it."" No word as to why she hadn't called us for approval at this reduced price, to pickup if she couldn't sell it, notified us of the sale, or sent us a check. I was told she would mail a check by mail. Mid-May, I presented to the Man Cave Exchange in person, inquiring about payment and was told she had the wrong address, but would send out a check by the first of June. Mid July, I presented again, and was told that a check was sent, ""but now I'm going to have to stop payment, and will reissue a new one.""\r At this point I had her verify her records for my mailing address, which was incorrect...again. As I watched her enter the correct address into her computer, I was assured by Ms. La Favor that a check would be cut & sent. Today, Aug 17th, we still have no check. I again presented to the The Man Cave Exchange, and was rudely yelled at stating ""I sent you a check, but now I have to contact the bank to cancel it, and pay a $20 fee, before I can send you another one!"" I advised her to call me when she had the check as she seems to have problems with her mailing system. (**It is only me and my Husband in our home, no kids, and I do all of the bills/paperwork. IF anything had come in the mail it would have come to me, as by this time we were both losing patience and feeling foolish for being scammed. ) I asked Ms. La Favor to again verify our phone contact information...which was entered incorrectly. She entered the corrected number, wrote something down on a piece of paper, complained again how she would have to call the bank and then promptly ran towards the back of the shop, leaving me there scratching my head. I could only assume that she was calling the bank, and wouldn't just end things in that manner. I returned an hour later with Ms. La Favor asking if she could help me. (Earlier there had been one man browsing and when I returned there was one couple browsing...not exactly a Black Friday Sale madhouse.) As soon as I said that I had returned to find out what her bank had said, she yelled at me ""Well, I didn't say I would do it today! I am busy with customers ( two, fully engaged in browsing), and I don't have time to do it today. I will have go get back to you!"" For as angry and upset as she was, it certainly seemed like a case of ""Thou protest too loudly."" Seems to me that I should have been the one losing it. I can only assume that this is a frequent occurrence for Ms.La Favor and would suggest that she come up with a few new lines as the old ones are wearing thin. Moral of this story: If you are looking to sell on consignment, go anywhere else BUT the Man Cave Exchange...unless you're good with never seeing your money. Please pray for us...I think it's going to take an act of God., although I've got my Brother-in-Law, a Chicago Attorney, looking into it as I write. \r more

i and some other people have tried to sell some things at this place. and had come to find out the our things where missing. the owner did't care and had no clue what happened to our belongings . and she gets real rude if you ask about your belongings. if you have any thing of value don't sale it at this place. it's a big rip off. or put a for sale on it and set it on a street corner your chances are better that i won't come up missing. and the rest of the stuff is just junk. more

When they first opened, there were some interesting items priced fair. But prices have gone up and I have found it a waste of time to go there. seems some items have been there a year and still priced high.\r I was a regular visitor and found the constant bickering from mother(store manager and son) to be annoying. Store manager can be pushy and rude at times.\r If the store manager is not there, other employees cannot make a price cut or give you any information on the items you are looking at. I won't step in there again. \r One other thing I noticed was items coming in were slow and delayed being priced.\r Like they were held so friends ,family or favorite customers could check them out first. Very unprofessional. more
