Mama's Fish House is worth the hype 5/24/2006

Guidebooks on Maui all list Mama's Fish House as one of the best restaurants on the island, if not the best. While some of the restaurants recommended in our travel books were a bit overhyped (and way overpriced), our dinner at Mama's was worth the time and money. The setting is gorgeous, right on the ocean outside of the town of Pa'ia. The atmosphere is rather laid back for a gourmet restaurant. The entrees we had, both fish of course, were outstanding. What a difference it makes to eat seafood caught the same day! Dessert, which consisted of a macadamia nut-banana crumble, topped off our experience. If you are going to splurge on one restaurant while on Maui, this is your place! more

Must Visit 4/17/2006

This is a must do on your trip to Maui. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. It is set back from the ocean in a patch of trees, but walking out to the ocean is a must. The food was out of this world! My husband had a crab stuffed Mahi Mahi, and it was amazing. This restaurant changes their menu each day to accommodate to the freshest fish that have been caught. more

Wonderful restaurant with everything you could want! 3/24/2006

This is the perfect Hawaiian restaurant! It is kind of out of the way, so there isn't a lot of people around that aren't going to the restaurant. The area is a little set back from the ocean, but you can easily go down to the beach from the restaurant. The views and everything is beautiful and you should definately bring your camera. Everything this here is first class...from the valet parking to the waiting room to the chairs and tables, it is beautifully put together. On the night we were there, we were given a free sample of soup! The food is expensive, but everything we had here was perfect! The fish was fresh and there was interesting recipes. A place to go to treat yourself! more
