Outstanding Italian Food 1/29/2011

Since finding Mama Mia Too in 2000 we have yet to find an Italian restuarant that beats it: it's fabulous! Great food at really good prices, wonderful quiet atmosphere in a big beautiful old house offering the ability to actually have a conversation and hear each other talk. Great service and Ralph, the owner, remembers you and is always making sure the guests are happy. I recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy what they pay for and get some of the best Italian food around. Not really a place for small children, the atmosphere tends to lean towards the adult crowd and it's nice to have a place where you can eat without a child screaming next to you. more

EXTREMELY Overpriced for portion served 2/18/2009

I began eating at Mama Mia's when they were a hole in the wall in Cornelius - I still visit on many occasions because the food is unbeatable. I have been there the past 2 Valentine's Day with groups of people I have encouraged to try this great restaurant. However, since my first Valentine's Day dinner with friends - these past 2 holiday's I have been embrassed by the extremely small portions of food. The cost of food is way high, but for that quality no problem but come on! We do want enough food to taste. And honestly - $5.00 for a salad that has approx. 10 leaves and one small tomato... Please consider larger portions of noodle, not too expensive..... Thanks Pros: Great Food Cons: Portions, Parking, cost for portions more

fresh sea food and quality of the steak 3/15/2007

I had my baby shower party there, i did enjoy the food the servive and the private room. more

It's OK 12/30/2006

We went to this restaurant twice; the first time the Calamari was not crispy at all and it was full of the frying oil. The steak was over done and was chewy. The sugar on top of the creme Brule was not completely caramelized and we can still feel and taste the sugar granules. Pros: The Ambience Cons: Slow Service, Food quality, PRICE PRICE PRICE more

Worth the nine hour drive 11/22/2006

We discovered Mama Mia's too because a NASCAR driver had listed it as his favorite restaurant. We assumed that someone from the area would certainly know what was good and decided to look it up. Now, we're forever grateful that we followed that impluse (even though it made us feel like crazy fans). We have seriously considered making the nine hour drive from our Kentucky homes just to eat lunch there. Pros: The best Italian food Cons: parking lot needs some work more

I'll pass next time. 4/21/2006

We had heard this place was good, but we were quite disappointed. The service was below average and the food was nothing special. The prices were higher than the experience warrented. There are too many other good restuarants around to give it another try. Pros: parking Cons: food, service, prices more

What a disappointment! After hearing and reading so much about this restaurant I chose to entertain Guests on a special occassion here. The starters were tasty but all the entrees were very average or below average. Nothing special at all and quite pricey for what was served. The service was unfriendly and the atmosphere cold. Pros: starters, adequate parking Cons: value for money, cold atmosphere, unfriendly service more

this is the creme 10/4/2005

I too, love this place. I have been going for years whenever I am in town. (which is alot) the owner takes great pride in his food and is not full of himself at all. he always comes to our table and asks how the family is. He has seen us for years though. He knows we go there for the true relaxation experience that is lacking in so many other places. He is not a chain , so that helps when people are truly in it for the love of it. It shows. Dont miss this place. I usually get the Ralph salad an Wild mushroom ravioli....................I have tasted much though. Pros: homey and cozy Cons: parking is on rocks more

Hidden Jewel 2/27/2005

The most extensive menu I've seen anywhere, supplemented by many ""specials"". Everyone can find something they like. Great local place with reasonable prices. Will make this one of my ""regular"" haunts. Pros: Well Staffed Cons: Gravel Parking Lot more

Who'd ever have guessed? 12/19/2002

I've lived in Huntersville for 13 years and I didn't know this place existed. A real treat and a good place to take a date. Went with a large church party, and had top noch service and good food (though it was not great, but good). The waiter even played a christmas cd we brought in our room over their sound system. Only draw back is the parking lot is not that great. Pros: Top noch service Cons: Parking more
