Simply the Best 11/19/2008

One of the best Kosher bakeries in all of New York state. The Cheese Danish is truly the most outstanding ever. The cakes are luscious. My only wish is that they would go back to the original Rugalach recipe from the early '80's; that was really something! more

Bagels and Baked Goodies 3/22/2006

Malek's Kosher Bakery in Brighton is a great place to pick up some bagels, danishes or other bakery treats. They open early, so it is a nice place to grab breakfast before catching an early flight out of the airport. Everything is delicious and totally authentic. There is a small parking lot directly in front of the store, and it is easy to find. I haven't tried their beautiful looking breads yet, but I've heard the rye is delicious. Closed Saturdays. more

Craving a cheese danish.... 12/3/2005

This bakery has been a tradition in Rochester for many years. If you are craving for a cheese pocket danish, then this is the bakery for you. Maleks has many pastries to choose from. A favorite of mine is the chocolate danish. They go fast, so I would buy more then one. There is a wide variety of breads, cookies and pastries. They always have fresh Challah on Fridays and it can be sliced on request. The bakery is Kosher. They are closed on Saturdays for Sabbath. Ask for Phyllis, a real nice lady. more
