Great Japanese Steakhouse! 6/22/2009

Always great food every time I have gone there. I have been many times over the last 6 or 7 years and have always enjoyed it. Sitting down at the hibachi grills are always fun and even better with a group of friends. The lunch is just as great but at a cheaper price. Even dinner is pretty reasonable though. I definitely recommend this place! more

Lunch Buffet 1/7/2009

Lunch Buffet is the best in the world! Reasonably priced with a great selection, this is a must! Lunch is casual and dinner is more intimate. Food is wonderful and the service is always top-notch! more

Not bad 11/8/2008

Not top of my list for Japanese steakhouses but still good. If your from up north, it will be very different for you. Here in the Carolina's many places use corn instead of egg. Great lobster. more

Sushi bar...and...Chefs cook with FIRE AND FLAIR 12/4/2007

The restaurant draws you in with it's dramatic exterior and the inside is just as beautiful. Very well equiped sushi bar. The tableside performing chefs cook great tasting food with fire and flare in generous portions. I was disappointed in the general level of food and litter on the floor and on eating surfaces. This may have been an isolated incident that evening but the food was so good and the view of their Zen garden is worth my trying them again. more

A must experience when in Boone! 8/20/2007

I live about 2 hours away from Boone and Makoto's is the first place I eat when I get to make the trip up to Boone. The food is sooo good! The filet mignon is well worth the price and the shrimp sauce makes the meal complete. The chefs are very interactive and have many tricks. Try Makoto's the next time you are in Boone! more

Best Shrimp Sauce! 9/21/2004

Always a must when I'm in town! Seating is shared with about 10 or so people. Food is cooked in front of you with a bit of entertainment as a shrimp is flipped into a hat or big fire flashes before your eyes. Meal price includes soup, salad, entree, and a fortune cookie. Recommend the steak and sesame chicken. Love saturating the carrots and rice in shrimp sauce! more
