Main Stream Electric

Even on Super Bowl Sunday they came out to my house on within an hour of my call to troubleshoot wiring issues with my heater that kept it from going on. Rick the technician was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! He honestly taught me about the conditions of my wiring and recommended the best options from a safety perspective. I plan to only use these guys from now on while set up to upgrade my homes electric wiring. more

I had the unfortunate circumstance of some JACK WAGON stealing my main electrical breaker from my home while at work. I had to find an electrician, get a permit for inspection and clear it for electricity to be restored. Shane and Tim responded to the home within 60 minutes, and were personable, professional and knowledgeable. I was so relieved. They actually went to file and pick up the permit, arranged to have an inspector out within hours and calmed my very restless nerves. They did excellent work, went above and beyond, discussed the parts and circuitry with me and even offered to bring me Starbucks! They nearly made me cry with relief! I will recommend this company to everyone I come across for a long time to come. more

We had our panel box broken by a utility worker. With 3 small children, we could not go the night without electricity. Mainstream Electric came out immediately and began to work on it. They continued the work the next day and did a great job. They also helped us find a good stucco person to repair the wall where the panel had been attached. Lastly, they helped us to get our money reimbursed from the utility/city when they were refusing to do so. I would highly recommend them! more

I had the opportunity to use Main Stream electric for the first time this past June 2011 after one of my rental homes had a fire which burned down the car-port and laundry room. My wife and I were away celebrating our anniversary when I received the call from the renter and fire chief who informed me I needed to get an electrician out to isolate the breakers before he would allow the tenants back into the house. I randomly chose Main stream from the internet and based on the excellent reviews I read concerning their service. Shane the owner/manager immediately responded by sending Dave G. out to assess the problem. Dave came out and isolated the circuit so my renters could move back in but the fire caused other problems that required extensive work and time which was my biggest concern. By early the next morning Dave had pulled the city permits and began working long days including a Saturday and Sunday while constantly maintaining contact with the city to schedule an inspection once he completed the work. He also was talking to PG&E about what their involvement needed to be. Both the city and PG&E wanted to drag their feet but Dave G. was relentless and went up the supervisor management chain to maintain a commitment that he made to me to get my tenants back in with full power. In all my years of dealing with contractors on all my houses I have never experienced someone go this far above and beyond the call of duty. He did all the leg work and in 3 days all service was restored, inspections completed and my stress levels gone. Then most recently I had an also exact problem with another house in a different town. This was a panel fire with much more extensive damage. This was 4 days before Thanksgiving and my tenants had guests coming in from a different country for the holidays. This was a stressful disaster in the making. When I was first informed about the emergency I phoned Shane at the office on a Sunday morning and requested Dave come out to size up the damage. Shane offered to send Dave on that day but for me Monday was going to work too. Dave was on-site by 7:00am the next morning and immediately took charge. He gave me the very bad news concerning the transformer,panel,wiring and an assortment of problems. Very stressful but this time I knew what to expect from Dave and felt better. Dave worked from very early morning to dark every day but because PG&E has a 2 week wait for outside transformer and wire panel connection work it appeared my renters would be staying in a hotel with relatives for the holidays. Dave again when up the manager chain at not only PG&E but also the city for permits and scheduled inspections. He got all to commit to overtime and have power back by Wednesday before midnight. The power was back by 1:00pm the day before Thanksgiving all because of Dave and Mainstream Electric take charge attitude. Words cannot describe how dedicated these people are and how hard they work or how grateful I am. The words UNBELIEVABLE, Customer service, hard work ,taking ownership,integrity, dedication,pride describe how Main Stream Electric models their business.With all of this service their prices are still very fair.Dave,Shane and the entire group at Main Stream Electric are old school and a throw back to when giving your best and pleasing the customer was important. This was just a horrible experience. The guy who came out for an estimate was perfectly nice before he had my business, after that he didn't seem interested in talking to me at all. The 2 guys that came for the job didn't seem to even know what the job was, they had to go shopping for 2 hours after arriving, and even then they ran out of cable, so they had to go shopping again, and then bridge it to a second cable(I was having an extra ethernet port installed). Also, they completely messed up the outside of the house where the cable came in, and said they were only responsible for the cable and nothing cosmetic to the house, so I had to have my painter spackle and repaint it. The wall plate was also not properly lined up to the pre-existing electrical outlet- again, I guess it's not their responsibility. The communication was extremely unprofessional. The guy coaxed me into paying cash by lowering the price by 20 dollars before the job was even finished. I feel so stupid now for having agreed. He was here until 11pm the first night and just left without saying anything, with excess cables and wood debris all over the living room floor. I had to call the next day to get them to come back out, because for all I knew maybe he considered the job done since the cable was in the house now. Not to mention I also had them work on switching some electrical outlets in my room, again they wanted cash, and now half of the outlets do not work and I'll have to have my contractor fix it when he gets back into town. I could go on and on, but safe to say I do not recommend this company. I feel bad for the guy who actually did the job because he was at least working hard, even if it was poor work and poor communication. I place most of the blame on the guy who came out for the estimate and apparently didn't communicate to the worker the extent of the job. He just wanted my money. I guess anything after that was less important. Oh, I almost forgot. I noticed my power drill was missing after they left. I called and left a message asking about it, not accusing them of anything. They never called back. more

Last weekend I needed an Electrician, but had no clue who to call. I found MSE in the Pennysaver and was immediately assisted by Shane (Who was amazing!). His Sacramento Rep. came quickly and fixed everything! He was courteous, knowledgeable, respectful, kind and most importantly, trustworthy. They made me feel like my business WAS appreciated. I would/will use them whenever I need electrical work done and I will recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done! I really can't say enough about my entire experience with this company! Main Stream Electric just came in and we told them what we wanted. They gave us a quote, and then they came in for the work ahead of schedule. They did really good work in general, and when it came to the warranty work they didn't ask any questions, they just did it. more

Recently hired Mainstream Electric. They beat the competing bid...and quickly performed the work. They also worked to minimize drywall cuts. Shane provides outstanding customer service...something that really sold me. more

We first used Main Stream Electric about 4 months ago. They came in and did a really good job on our electrical box for a reasonable price. We appreciated that they were honest and did not try to get us to change our entire box, which would have cost us several thousands of dollars. Our son-in-law is a contractor and he had told us what would be reasonable and what to look for in an electrical company. We had a few different companies in here before we found and decided to use Main Stream Electric. We used them again recently because we had an electrical problem in the house that has been going on for years and that we have been unable to solve. Main Stream Electric figured it out and had the issue resolved in 2 hours. We got more than we expected with Main Stream Electric because we found an electrician that we can trust. The first time I used Main Stream Electric, I was in a pinch, calling companies in the Yellow Pages to find someone who could come out right away. Main Stream Electric made an extra effort to come that afternoon and see what they could do to help. They went way beyond what was necessary. After they helped me in that emergency situation, I used them again at a later date to do some other work. They were very thorough and told me everything they were going to do as well as the problems that they found. They fixed everything, got the work done in a timely manner, and cleaned up the place afterward. I would definitely recommend Main Stream Electric. They are very reliable, conscientious and helpful.
