I brought my brand new, one (1) week old Prius into Main Street for a complete tint job. I met with Soo, who was helpful and nice, agreed on a price, and scheduled an appointment for the very next day. I arrived the next day and left my car with Kevin. I picked-up the car later that day, looked it over (everything looked fine), paid for the service, and went home. It was not until the next day, in the sunlight as I was driving to work, that I realized the front passenger's door window had numerous vertical scratches directly inline with the side view mirror. I didn't think this would present a problem for Main Street. I believed Main Street would just pull off the tint and replace it. I went down on my first day off (4 days after the tint job - I hadn't even rolled down the windows yet) and met with Kevin. He came out to the car, looked intently at the scratch, felt the inside and outside of the window, and proceeded to tell me that it was the window that was scratched not the tint. I told him you can feel the scratches in the tint if you run your finger over them. He stuck with the window being the cause of the scratches. He ended by telling me: ""Other than that, it looks awesome.""
I will tell you that the window tinter they use does do a good job. The tint was laid on flat, there were no bubbles, and I was very satisfied with the job. Unfortunately, the tinter (or another member of their staff) made a small mistake and scratched the film - it happens. This shouldn't be something to run away from; instead, it should be an opportunity to show your customer how you stand behind your work. What I received was an insult to my intelligence, all over a few dollars in window tint and about 20 minutes of time for the re-installation. Whenever I have free time in my work schedule, I will pay another tinter to remove the scratched film and install new film. I will do my best to come back to this site and post a before/after photo for your review.
I write this as a warning for other potential customers. You will not receive honest treatment if you return with a problem that is no fault of your own. Main Street will look to find an excuse to keep from guaranteeing their work. A customer should not have to fight to convince a business to do what is right and fair.
