Upon searching for the former Maid of Scandinavia, the first search item came up as KitchenKrafts of Waukon, Iowa.
This company is by no means the former business and other than being about 75 miles away, they are NOT in any way associated or acquired the former Maid of Scandinavia or Sweet Celebrations as they are inferring by their website.
The company in Iowa is a poor representation than the former company which was helpful, offered a wonderful staff and more than a service department and pricing which while they were a mail order service, was at the time some of the lowest pricing for the products available.
Maid of Scandinavia had the largest number of items offered anywhere in the country by mail order.
They also offered a baking 'club' which sent out a subscription newsletter which copies are still valued and offered for considerable amounts on eBay and other sites.
ShopBakersNook has also been referenced as company which was the prior Maid of Scandinavia, which it is not.
The company closed and for a short time another owner attempted to run it but only lasted under a year. The owners were older and delightful folks and the new 'owner' was unable to provide the service which resulted in the business permanently closing.
Some stock was returned to the vendors and the rest was sold by a sourcing company who eventually auctioned off the last items.
There is not another company which offers the selection or guidance which Maid of Scandinavia provided. Like many things, it was a gem, who provided many decades of loyal service and quality products which has become lost in our world of foreign cheap products and experience holds no value by the younger generation.
