I am sorry to say...but I 100% disagree with 'kevahouse'. Maggie's Buns has exceptional catering. She always does a tremendous job of making the tables look beautiful and the food taste delicious. I have been to many caterings hosted by Maggie and her team and I have never been let down. There is always enough food for more

Just so-so 3/23/2010

This is a review for their catering. Pasta with a few veges and dressing stirred in with a few meat bits and olives. American tex-mex dishes very filling and bland. Dessert looked good but seemed to be peanut butter flavored whipped cream placed into a cookie crust with caramel and chocolate drizzled on it. Some of the baked goods are really good. Their bread is good. Never been to the restaurant. Pros: local Cons: too rich and bland more

GREAT atmosphere and fabulous food 10/7/2009

I love the laid back, friendly atmosphere. Everyone is so nice and the food is delicious! I would recommend that everyone try the cinnamon bun and the coffee is great also! Maggie's Buns is THE go-to coffee house! Pros: best cinnamon bun I've ever had more

Coffee, Buns, and Orgasm bar experience 10/2/2009

I went in to Maggie's today and was asked if I wanted an orgasm bar. This was the beginning of my experience with Maggie's Buns. I was so impressed with my service and the cheap coffee I found at Maggie's. They really cater to the locals, because bottom line is you can't find those prices anywhere anymore. Coffee 1.00, Lunch 6.75, Orgasm 1.75... complete restaurant experience at Maggie's priceless. Thanks for the fun experience Pros: Yummy pastries Cons: Very busy on Saturdays more

Everything you want in a dining experience 4/13/2008

Maggie's buns is the type of restaurant that you never want to leave; the food is so good you want to stay until the next meal, the staff is so friendly you want to stay and chat all day, and the atmosphere is so comfortable that you feel like you're in your own kitchen. I would also recommend Maggie's for catering, the food is amazing no matter where you take it and her catering staff are friendly and proffessional. Pros: ambience, food, service, decor, location Cons: you eat so much you have to loosen your belt more

Real food for a really great price 1/21/2007

I stumbled upon Maggie's Buns when I was in town on business. The Chamber of Commerce highly recomended it as did the locals I spoke with. The place is a very small cafe with a very Bohemian feel. The smells of fresh baked bread, rolls and pastries hits you when you get out of your car. The menu changes daily but always includes soups, 10 salads, several quiches and more entree's than I could count. They also offer sandwiches on their delicious fresh baked bread. I missed breakfast by a few minutes but hope to return to give it a try, the menu looked fun. The staff is squirrly, they obviously have fun at work, but professional at the same time. I did not get to meet the famous Maggie but I hear she is a hoot, almost as eclectic as her decor. If you are looking for green walls and brass atmosphere, this is not the place for you. However, if you appreciate real homeade food, fun atmosphere and a genuinely nice staff then you have chosen well. I cannot wait for my next trip to Forest Grove. Pros: Great food, great prices, fun staff, lots of selection Cons: If you loved something one day it might not be there when youcame back. more

An oasis in Forest Grove - actually Washington County 12/30/2006

I love Maggies' Buns. Being a bicyclist and avid seeker of interesting cafes in the Portland area, I was introduced to the place several years ago by the Wheelmen on one of their weekly rides. I couldn't keep up with them but they definitely have good taste. Situated next to Pacific University this place has a great clientelle - Students, cyclists, and locals. Maggie knows her customers and she and her staff and do a great job serving what they want. You have to go there to check out the decor, check out the restrooms (always clean). The place is work of art. The coffee drinks and lunches are very good but would not appeal to snobs or fast food junkies. The atmosphere is relaxed. I happen to have it from a good source, Maggie's daughter, that she is a clean freak. Today after closing I saw three industrious souls cleaning up for at least an hour. Pros: Maggie, Maggie's staff, Happy Hour from 2:00, Buns are delightful, Everything is very homemade Cons: Sometimes gets very crowded more

Great Food, Great People, Cozy Atmosphere and Great Place!! 12/28/2006

I love going to Maggie's Buns!! This restaurant is not your typical restaurant like Izzy's or Denny's. It has a great cozy atmosphere and yes can be a little crowded but that onluy adds to the experience. It is a small town restaurant that serves fabulous food and has great customer service. It is great for just relaxing and drinking a good cup of coffee in their big comfy chairs or going out for that fabulous and surprisingly inexpensive dinner on Valentine's Day. Their famous cinnamon rolls are to die for but get their early for they sell out quickly. It is a crazy fun and creative place they have lots of cool things to look at and thier ceiling is wavy and is painted like the sky. I would definately recommend their Seafood Chowder, they serve it on Fridays and it is absolutely awesome. It is a real soup homemade and filled with lots of fresh seafood and vegetables. Maggie (the owner) is great, she is always having fun and she seems to know every person like they had been friends forever. The staff in general is great! Saturdays can get a little crazy because everyone goes to Maggies for breakfast but its worth it because the breakfast is awesome. From their French Toasty Buns ( cinnamon rolls made into french toast) to their omelets filled with evrything. I love this place definately would recommend it !! Their catering service is fabulous to!! Pros: Great food, cozy, great ambience, fun staff, great catering Cons: Busy sometimes, seating sometimes difficult more

I love this place! 11/21/2006

Food, Service and atmosphere are all enjoyable! I got tired of being treated like anonymous cattle at Starbucks (not to mention paying ridiculous prices!) and now stop here every morning I can. I have been to many business functions catered by these folks, the food was consistently Very good and often more popular that the purpose for the meeting! I just had a business client in town from Hawaii last week, we had breakfast at Maggie's and while we were enjoying our breakfast and reading the paper he commented ""I wish we had a place like on Kauai"". I think that sums it up well!! more

Not so hot 4/6/2006

The food is already prepared and sitting behind glass deli style, and they heat it up. I ordered some kind of vegetarian dish, and my mom and dad ordered things with meat and cheese. The place is neatly decorated, and I give them points for trying to be creative with their decoration.. but if you really start to look around you'll see that everything is FILTHY. In the corners, in the cracks of the chairs, under the vase on the table.. black and dirty and I'd rather eat in my garage. My dish was ridiculously rich (yet not very flavorful) and made me feel sick after eating less than half.. and my parents felt the same way. The ""buns"" are sitting out in the open where everybody walks by. I support small businesses and try to avoid chains at all costs, and I really wanted to like this place. I'm sorry, but cleanliness isn't an ""option"" for me. Pros: Cute decor, Good Idea Cons: Filthy Dining Area, Bad Food more
