Best

Lots to do when waiting, kid friendly staff and kid menu but portions are large enough to eat family style. High chairs, coloring,...

Worst

Setting was before closing..not busy AT ALL.... I split my meal with my date, some Fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms and broccoli ... and sounds great, right?! uhhg it was basica...

RUDEST STAFF!! 3/17/2007

THE STAFF IS SOOOOO RUDE!!! That's the first thing I want to mention. Oh my gosh, they yelled at kids and the parents standing by the door saying they didn't want them to be in the way for their customers. Uh.... aren't THEY customers too? They were mad because at the last minute our party downsized like we did it on purpose and they made us wait another 15-20 min to ""rearrange"" the table. They told me we needed to check in 15 prior to the reservation time. NOBODY told me that when I called for reservations. The bus guys told us rudely to move our appetizer plates!! Isn't that their job?! The food was honestly mediocre overall. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was salty and my boyfriend ordered the sasauge ziti and it was just ok. NEVER going back. EVER. Oh, and they didn't have any espresso because their machine was broken. more

Okay service, bad food. 3/2/2007

If you are ready to eat some marinara that tastes like Ketchup, then you are in for a treat. The portions are big, but what is the point if you don't like it. The best part was the kids' meal of simple macaroni and cheese. Never going again.... Pros: Ambience, Location Cons: Bad food, just-okay service more

Ugh...manufactured nostalgia, criminally over-priced mediocre food and lousy service 2/6/2007

I don't even know where to begin from the fact that we had a reservation for 10 and still had to wait, to the LOUD, overcrowded dining room, to the non-existent ""all-you-can-eat"" menu. I don't even like Bucca di Beppo and I'd go there over this place any day of the week. At least Bucca's isn't pretending to be something it's not. Maggiano's boasts about their ""from scratch"" kitchen then serves food that tastes like a frozen dinner. This place is such a massive, impersonal operation I don't even know why anyone would go there unless they just wanted to eat themselves to death and didn't care how they did it. I'd rather have a normal portion done WELL than 2 lbs of overcooked chicken or a cinder block of tasteless lasagna. Actually, you probably couldn't eat yourself to death becuase the service is so slow. Pros: Nice lighting Cons: Everything else more

Terrible service, bland food, and a bloated check 2/3/2007

I went with a party of twelve. We were seated more or less promptly, but we didn't see our waiter for half an hour. He took our order and our appetizers were brought out fairly quickly. The crab cakes were decent, as was the bruschetta, but when we asked for more crab cakes it took a VERY long time and several reminders to the waiter to get them. Pros: Large portions Cons: Terrible food, poor service, noisy atmosphere more

Better than I expected but needs some fine-tuning 1/2/2007

We had reservations for a large party for lunch on January 1st. I checked in early as I was the first one there and we waited for the rest of our party arrived. Several ended up not making it due to a broken-down car and we had to ask to be seated and then to ask the waitress if we could proceed with the meal since it would be served family-style and if our guests arrived - they could choose from what we ordered, as they were going to charge us for the number of folks on the reservation and not at the table. It took us probably 45 minutes to order because the waitress kept waiting for more guests instead of proceeding with the order. Once we did order, she was not knowledgable about the menu, and kept asking (in a snotty tone) ""haven't you been here before?"""" and repeating ""we serve family-style!"" in a loud tone like we didn't understand what she has said - we were simply asking a question regarding the menu. ""Family-style"" was her answer for just about everything. Once she finally got some back up support she was friendlier and was attentive when delivering the platters and made sure all beverages were filled and was quick to offer to box up the left overs. I think she made up for the rocky beginning - or at least, tried to. The angel hair pasta with garlic prawns and arribiata sauce was delicious(!!), the parmesan garlic foccacia was crispy-crunchy and flavorful, and the kids loved the cheese ravioli with marinara. Nice cesar salad (and they had anchovies on the side for those who wanted them). The chicken and spinach manicotti needs work and their version of a ""Bellini"" is just wrong. At the end of it, she did have the manager adjust the bill down to the number of guests who were present for the meal and apologized for the lack of professionalism earlier explaining that she had been called in to replace two others who had called in sick. We left the resturant feeling like it could have been better but we're willing to give it another shot. more

See no need to EVER go back... 11/14/2006

Went for a large group dinner (12 people) on a Saturday night? Pros: Four cheese ravioli & Potroast were the highlights Cons: Cramped Lobby, Busy bartenders, uninterested service. more

Great food! Delicious leftovers! 8/3/2006

I've been here twice. Once for lunch, once for dinner and I'm planning to try the Happy Hour tonight. I've also had some of their takeout. We had lunch in the bar, crab cake sandwich = awesome! For dinner, we had a wonderful waiter who was very knowledgeable and helpful for our first dinner there. I highly recommend the Stuffed Chicken Fontina or the Beef Medallions, Portabella Mushrooms, Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Delish! Be aware, it's family style...so you get a lot of food! I've also tried the fried mozzarella, wow! Pros: free parking, quality food, decor Cons: gets crowded more

Lost our reservation, made us wait 45 minutes and sat us in the kitchen 7/18/2006

We checked in 30 minutes early for our reservation. They lost our name on the list and then told us we had told them we were waiting for additional memebers of our party. We were a party of two waiting 45 minuites with a prior reservation. After two polite discussions with the host they sat at the door to the kitchen. more
