In December 2012 I had my car towed to Maffeis in HBG. \r
I received a verbal estimate to do the minimum required to get my car running. A fuel pump approx. $792.00 and an ac compressor approx. $1100.00, for a total of $1892.00. \r
\r
The owner told me he could not bypass the ac compressor, saying that they have bypassed the ac compressors on big trucks, but it could not be done on my car because it is too small of an engine. They told me the fuel gauge would work if I replaced the fuel pump. \r
\r
It's great to know people that know about cars, they both smelled a crook. So...\r
\r
We picked up the car, drove it 1 block away to Ceja's where they repaired my car by bypassing the ac compressor. It's been running great ever since. \r
My charges, $284.00.\r
\r
I've waited to post anything because I wanted to make sure my car would continue to run. It runs great. I didn't need a fuel pump and cars do not require air conditioning to safely operate. \r
\r
I'm upset that I feel a local small business tried to rob me of my hard earned money. \r
\r
I am grateful that I was able to take the car around the corner where I should have taken it in the first place. Ceja's has always been an honest good place to take my vehicles. I'll never think twice about referring Ceja's.\r
\r
As far as Maffeis..... \r
With friends like them who needs enemies.\r
Thanks but no thanks.
