When my grandmother passed away, my mother ended up with a lot of her old jewelry, including an antique Waltham women's watch from the 1950s that was badly in need of repairs. I'd taken it to a couple of jewelers and watchmakers who I thought would be able to fix it, but no one had the proper parts for the repairs.
I read about Al Maddox online and since he's right around the corner from my office I figured I would stop by and see if he could fix it. Mr. Maddox had all of the parts needed on hand and was able to get this watch up and running in just one day and for a very reasonable rate. In all, he replaced the crystal, stem, crown, an internal mechanism, and added links so it would fit my wrist. The repairs were flawless-- he even had an original crystal for my exact same watch!
He also took the time to show me some of the beautiful antique watches he has for sale, including a pocketwatch from the 1800s. Mr. Maddox really knows his stuff and it was such a pleasure meeting him.
Highly recommend for all levels of repair. Extremely reasonable prices and an absolutely lovely owner.
