Worst

We haven't been pleased with our experience with Mac's. They were expensive and their service was slow.

I brought my wifes motorcycle Radiator in to see if it could be repaired. Macs took it on a Saturday and said they would call me with the cost of repair Monday. They called Monday gave me a price that was half of what I was expecting and had it done that afternoon. My wife was happy and so was I. Thanks Mac's more

As a business owner i feel i must stand up for my employees when they are unfairly accused of ""ripping off"" people. This is one of those cases. Amanda posted this review on August 8, 2011 The $900.00 in service she refers to was completed on August 16th 2007.... Amanda did return in March of 2009 (2 years later) and we diagnosed leaking freeze plugs (They were not leaking 2 years before when we had the van in) At that time she said she wanted to think about it. I have no idea and cant begin to understand what could have prompted her to write such a completely misleading comment. more

HORRIBLE, RIPOFF! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 8/7/2011

RIPOFF!!!! HORRIBLE PLACE. I took my van here because it was overheating, and they charged me $900 for a complete radiator/coolant/hosese/thermostat replacement, but they didn't change the freeze plugs, so MY VAN STILL OVERHEATS. they refused to help me, and now want to charge me another $300!!! Avoid this horrific, incompetent, rude shop. Go instead to McCollum's Automotive, Foreign Affairs, as they treat female customers right. DO NOT GO TO MAC'S UNLESS YOU HAVE EXTRA MONEY TO SPEND ON REPAIRS NOT DONE, AND EXTRA TIME TO SPEND ARGUING ABOUT IT. By the way, I'm handy, and have replaced batteries, tires, alternators, serpentine belts, all sorts of stuff on cars. I KNOW WHEN I'M BEING SCREWED. I've actually worked in automotive shops and repair shops before. more

Excellent Service! 5/24/2011

Excellent Service ! \r Last week Mac's was able to repair my boat heat exchange unit- not available any more because its an old boat, but Mac's repaired the unit and had it back the same day...saved my weekend boating trip. more

Absolutely do not go here, PLEASE READ!!! 4/4/2011

BIG SCAM! Crooks, I went in for a timing belt and water pump replacement, and they called me to tell me they had opened up my engine and that I had several bad parts that needed to be replaced that were different parts then I went in for and they of course wanted more money. Well I showed up there without warning to see for myself and they looked surprised to see me and ran out to the shop to start dismantling my car that hadn't even been touched yet. Luckily I walked out into the shop and caught them red handed. I was very upset and said I want my car out of here now, and they handed me my keys with nothing to say....what could they say, they we obviously caught!\r Stereotypical shop scam. I won't ever go here again and I'll do my best to spread the word. \r How many thousands of people with no mechanical experience or knowledge have been taken for hard earned money here? It's just sick! more

Fixing the cause of a problem. 8/24/2010

As a owner I would like to respond to a reviewers opinion that Mac's was over priced and didn't complete repairs in a timely matter. At Mac's our goal is to offer the highest quality parts and vehicle service available at a competitive price. We fully understand that there are many people & places that will offer a "low price" to fix your car. At Mac's, we have found over our 64 year in business that many of the low cost repairs don't fix the "whole" problem, they fix a symptom. Mac's looks to find and fix the cause of the problem to eliminate the same, or more problems down the road. great service 8/22/2008

It was late in the afternoon and my vehicle radiator started steaming, I called and Mac's said they could get me right in, they checked out my Honda and had the problem fixed that same day. The people were very nice and professional, they explained the problem to me and saved me money on the repair. I will go back & send all my family and friends. Thank you Mac's more

Don't go 12/7/2006

Brought my jeep in for a new radiator. After I picked up the jeep I noticed on the freeway (on my way to a math final) that my electric fan wasn't turning on and the temp was almost in the red zone. I attempted to call Macs but of course they were closed. The tech didn't check to make sure that the electric fan was set correctly to the new radiator. You would think the tech would make sure the radiator was cooled by a fan when service was completed? Stuck on the freeway until help arrived with a pair needle nose pliers we set the fan to come on at the right temp. Missed my math final and pissed!!! more

Macs Radiator Repair 11/2/2005

Not only did Macs figure out the problem with my car leaking antifreeze, they figured it out, gave me a quote, and had it fixed in one day. They made it incredibly easy to get my car back and running in no time. They didn't charge too much for what I had done, and they showed me exactly what it was that they replaced and how they did it when I went to pick up my car. Definitely a place I would go again. more
