I think that the limited menu for Mac's probably disappoints some people, but I like several things on the menu so it is not a drawback for me. It is clearly a ""bar environment"" and it is a great place for casual, loud dining. The burgers (especially the Mac Burger) are almost always wonderful, so I rarely stray and try new things. I fell in love with the Scottish Egg (despite the obvious health issues with wrapping a whole egg in sausage and dipping it in some cream sauce). It is my understanding that the owners also own Fabians next door. Fabians has discontinues specials, raised prices and stopped honoring advertised specials. I sincerely hope that Mac's doesn't follow suit. If you are looking for a burger and beer, or some Irish comfort food, I would recommend Mac's - other than that, I think you are taking a chance. It is also usually loud, so go with people that you can just nod and they will think you are paying attention to them.
Pros: Burgers, Unique menu (Scottish/Irish?)
Cons: Loud and clearly for the bar crowd only - not that that is always a bad thing
