Well, Interesting day. I called Mac Guys (at about 1030am today) to ask about some problems I was having loading new video games on my Mac Pro (desktop), as I was getting an error related to a case insensitive file system. The guy on the phone treated me in such a shockingly condescening manner that I was actually taken aback. He continued to be blatlantly rude to me, as if I was a complete idiot, or as if he was talking to a 2 year old. Note, that I have a PhD and two Masters degrees (so I don't consider myself unintelligent), in addition to being a fairly competent Mac user (Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone). He was actually chuckling at my failure to understand when he would need to do to format the drive, etc., and like this phone call was an afterthought to him, instead of a potential customer He seemed to fail to understand that the reason I was calling was that the techinical issues were beyond my level of expertise. That is why Mac Guys is in business, no?\r

Now, I understand one guy might just be having a bad day (maybe he was hung over, or some other issue that we can all experience from time to time), so I can at least understand why he might be having a bad day and taking it out on the phone caller (as unprofessional as even that would have been). But the funny thing was that, after hanging up with him, I decided to take my Mac to a nearby competitor (I won't give that nam ehere, lest this review be considered an advertisement for another company) and while I was waiting there, the guy in line behind me heard me recount this story to the guy behind the desk and he proceeded to tell me that several days before he's had exactly the same experience with Mac Guys and would never go back to them, due to their rudeness and that it seemed to call Mac Guys was an inconvenience to the guy on the other end of the phone. Then, the guy behind the desk told me that he, too, had heard such stories and that they were getting new business due to the rudeness of the Mac Guys staff.\r

I know I don't want immature, condescending jerks like those working at the Mac Guys front desk to work on my vitally important computer, despite the many 5 star reviews here on Yelp. I will aggressively and proactively tell all my friends and family to avoid Mac Guys (via Facbook, and in person/phone). As I was born and raised in this town, that number is not inconsiderable, and they often call me to ask for hep with the more common mMac problems. \r

In my experience, the Mac Guys and their atrocious, infuriating customer service are not deserving of my business or that of any of my friends or family. If you choose to use them, I hope you have better luck.
