Editorial review from Citysearch 12/30/2014

I took my 2007 Honda Accord to Maaco about a month ago and had a great experience! The paint on the roof of my car was faded really bad and it was spreading over the rest of my car. James was very friendly and knowledgeable about the different paint packages available. He helped me select the best package for exactly what I needed. My car looks brand new now and my Dad even took his car to get painted once he saw mine. I would definitely recommend Maaco on Atlantic Avenue in Raleigh to anyone who needs their car painted!!! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/17/2014

Effective December 2013 the old owner lost his Maaco franchise and we the new owners are now operating the shop. We apologize for the bad experiences which these customers and others had at this location in the past. The store is now under the same ownership of several other Maacos and includes the Maaco in Charlotte on South Blvd which we are proud to say is a 2013 Super Service Angie's List... more

Super Jobs 1/18/2012

My car was looked at by more than 4 professionals for an estimate. Each was way out of my price range. Sean at Maaco on Atlantic Ave. must have seen my passion for my car. The car is a 1997 1/2 Chrysler Sebring JX Converible Spring Special. The car was red, but looked more pink before the job was completed. He quoted a very reasonable price for paint and clear coat, and detailed each item that had to be fixed. This was not just a paint job, the front spoiler had to be repaired because of a split received from a parking curb. There were many dents received from shopping carts and careless people parking beside my pretty car. I agreed to the price and left the car. When I picked up my car it was as pretty if not prettier than the day she rolled off the showroom floor. May I mention I am the original owner of this car. My husband was so impressed that his truck was next. His truck is a 1999 Chevrolet Siverado. The clear coat was all but gone and the color had begun to fade. At his request they removed the bed of the truck so all parts received new paint and clear coat. We are both very happy. Everyone that sees our vechicles are asking us who did the work. They see the great quality as well. more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! 9/11/2011

I wish there was a negative star I could allocate to this company. They are liars, cheats, crooks and on top of all that CAN'T REPAIR CARS AT ALL. I want to warn everyone in Raleigh, North Carolina that if you want your car to be ruined and then pay for the privelege then this is the company for you! My son had his car in for repair to a rust mark on the roof and when he went to collect it, not only was the workmanship terrible, but the front fender was damaged. My son's car was actually DAMAGED while in their "care"!!!!!!!!!! They refused to take responsiblity, were abusive, threatening and then suggested we take it up with the Small Claims Tribunal". Hmmmm, they must be used to getting compaints by now and are getting very good at dodging the law. Shame on Maaco Head Office for allowing this company to be a franchise owner. We will do whatever it takes to let people know how bad this company is. Thank you social media! more

BUYER BEWARE 4/26/2011

WE just picked up our SUV the from MAACO, Raleigh other day.. It was raining so we didn't get a walk around.. It looked good from the window. UGH.. The window trim was still rusty.. Thumbs up for them they fixed that.. NOW the list of what they SCREWED UP... Our running boards are a mess. They said they would fix them THEY painted over the defects. NONE of the rear lights worked... The interior potion of the rear view (passenger side) mirror was not painted.. They said that is NORMAL.. The drivers side was OK.. MMMMMMM so much for normal. The luggage rack is missing a piece.. It blew off on the way home.. They did not re- install it properly. They said it was missing when we brought it in..Whatever.. SO my words of WISDOM!!! Write everything down before you bring your car in. Make SURE everything is on the work order. When they call you with adds on MAKE sure they do what they say..because most of it is BS...... I would take pictures of everything because you wont have a leg to stand on... and they will screw something up.. PS.. plan on being without a car twice as long as they say.. All in all our car looks a lot better.. But we have a HEADACHE from the BS that came with our MAACO adventure........ more

Bad customer service and very discrimatory 2/13/2011

I am writing this letter to convey the horrific treatment I received from Maaco Auto body and paint on Atlantic ave in Raleigh, N.C. First I want to say I was a repeat customer there and had two of my vehicles painted there. I was in the process of repainting one of the vehicles. I called to ask about the warranty and pricing on the painting my vehicle. I called them and a Darryl answered the telephone. I ask for the manager Dwight and he told me Dwight was not there could he help me. I said I would rather speak to Dwight. He continued “are you picking up a vehicle or dropping one off?”. I asked again “could I not speak to Dwight”. Then he hung the phone up on me. I called back and talked to a Beth who said Dwight would be in later in the afternoon. I called back several times that afternoon but no Dwight. I got off work early and went over there. Dwight was not there but Beth and Darryl was there. I told Darryl “you are the one who hung up on me”, he denied it I said “yes you did yes you did”. He said “I already told you I did not hang up on you if you don’t believe me hey”. So then Beth answered a telephone call, hung up after 5 seconds and said “that was Dwight he won’t be in this afternoon”. I asked “why didn’t you let me speak to him. I drove all the way over here and been asking for him all afternoon”. She said “Oh well he’ll be in tomorrow from 9 til 12”. I asked are you sure and she said yes for sure. I left and came back the next day at 10 am. Darryl was talking to a customer(what seemed to be a man and his son). There was another lady ahead of me. He was talking all nice to the man and shaking hands saying what a good job he will do and how he will take care of the man. I said “I hope he takes care of you better than he took care of me”. They both looked startled. Then the man and his son left. He says to the lady “can you go outside and excuse us for a moment”. The lady goes outside. He tells me I am not to come back there without an appointment. I tell him to kiss off. I can come there when I want to. He reiterates this again and I tell him this is my second time coming there and wasting my gas. I was told Dwight would be here. He said Dwight is not there and I would have to make an appointment to see Dwight otherwise not to come back. I told him screw you and then not even thinking about it proceeded to put my glove on. He looked at me putting my glove on and started heading to the back saying he was going to call the police. I told him go ahead I’ve done nothing wrong. He goes to the back and locks the door. I wait there a minute and suddenly Dwight comes from the back room yelling and screaming with his face all red and veins coming out of his head. He tells me to get out of his store “ I can’t come in there bothering his customers”. I told him I’m not bothering his customers(besides I thought I was one of his customers). I told him I wanted to let him know what happened. He said he knew what happened. I said but you were not there. He said he already knew what happened because Beth told him that the phone was hung up by accident. I told him I was not coming back anymore. When I was leaving getting into my car I realized that Dwight was there all along. I did not bother to go back in to point that out for fear of further confrontation. more

Atlantic Ave Maaco, What a great place!!!!! 6/11/2008

I have been driving around with my car looking bad, I saw the shop on Atlantic Ave. I remembered my friend telling me to go to MAACO,when I was telling him how bad the service was at the Peach and Econo. shops (the place and the work). So I stopped in and in 10 minits knew Maaco is the place to go! People you work with are friendly, offered to tour the shop and show me some cars being done like what mine needed. They listened to what I wanted, talked about options for a new color and a clear coat so it shines. The place is clean and no presure. I felt good about leaving my car as it's a quality certified shop and I saw some of the cars that were done, gotta tell you, they look good! My Honda came out much better then what I thought it would. I am so happy with the results I took my dad's truck in and got a bedliner done as a Fathersday present for him, it came out great as well. If you get in a wreck or just need new paint "better get maaco" Pros: all good, price, service people-now this my body shop! Cons: easy to get to once you know it's on Atlantic by the Garden center on the hill. more

AWESOME WORK!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED family business!!! (new owners) 9/10/2007

I took my wife's car to be painted to the Maaco of Raleigh off Atlantic in March and I can not believe how good our car looks. It is a 2001 and we went from Silver to Black. The owner recommended that we add metallic flake and so we did. My car looks BRAND NEW! The owner was very personal and easy to work with! I will be taking more cars there in the future!! Pros: Awesome job! Great Service!! Cons: None more

NO - NO - BAD 10/14/2004

Do not get anything done at Maaco! If you do, plan an extra 2 week for anything to be done! I went to Maaco to get front and rear bumper skirts painted, they told me it will be ready in 2-3 day. It ended up taking a week and 1/2. Whenever I call to check , they always give me some bs reasons. My friend brought his car there to get it fix and they said it will be ready 1 week. He did not get the car back for like 3 weeks. A week went by and they didn't even order the replacement part... Pros: None Cons: , Bad customer service more
