I got a full body truck paint job for roughly $1,100 (before tax) at Maaco, (their high level option). The work looks gorgeous, and my truck looks like new. I'm no expert on painting, but the application appears perfect and extremely proffessional. The little/less important things suggest an excellent level of professionalism/quality as well, clean/organized shop, nicely cleaning and detailing the vehicle inside and out. The customer service was fantastic, (Tony). Very clear explanation of options, (see below), friendly/accomodating, does exactly what he says he will or better (phone calls, tracking down answers, time estimates), very fast turnaround (2 days), and went out of his way to research/track down an estimate for other work their shop doesn't do. I can't vouch for how the paint will hold up after 5 or 10 years, but it sure looks like it is an excellent quality long term paint job, and came w/ a 5 yr warranty..\r

Though there must certainly be others, Maaco was the only shop I found that had a price that was closer to $1000 than $4000 (the collision shops which take the panels off to paint for like factory/new quality and very strict application), and still did a careful/quality job (careful masking/application/finish). I found several who did the high end work, and several who did the low end ($300) work, but the latter would have been for paint combined w/ clear coat, more dubious masking/application, and (I'm guessing) lower quality paint. Maaco seemed to have good quality at a price that is not astronomical. Maaco actually has clearly defined options for 4 levels of quality from roughly $300 to $1100, (roughly something like 1 to 5 year warranty) for full body paint, so they even have the option of the low end paint quality level at the same price as the low end shops, but presumably w/ their same good quality of application as for higher quality.
Pros: Clear explanation of options, Professional/Quality work, Good/Reasonable pricing, Fast turnaraound, Great customer service.
Cons: Only one location @ far north, The second guy in the office was kind of a grump.
