MRP Painting

We have used Monte for 3 large jobs in Longmont, painting the exterior and interior of our house, and most recently our basement. He and his crew do tremendous work. He has a great work ethic, shows up on time, easy to contact, cleans up his mess, and his prices are very affordable. He also does great staining work. Our bar looks beautiful!! We wouldnt use anyone else. more

From the beginning we had a good feeling that we had found an honest, high quality, reasonable priced painter. At the time of our quote, Monte was very clear on his description of the job and broke down his prices between labor, paint, materials etc. So it was very easy to follow and understand. Monte and his crew came early to paint and our nursery and master room/bathroom look amazing. They did a great job, efficiently and timely. Monte and his crew did an excellent job on our house and were reasonably priced! He was very thorough and prompt. He recommended colors that we love! The lines were perfect and they left the house very clean. When they were finished, they labeled all of the leftover paint. They are even very dog friendly! Dont be fooled by their address, these guys come up to Longmont. My mom and I both used Monte and his crew. They did a great job, came when they said they would, got the job done well and fast. I would hire them again. Monte is a super nice guy, willing to help with color choices if you need it. We had some weird previous texturing by previous owners and he helped us decide what to do. Monty and his crew have worked on the interior of our home on two separate occasions and we have been very pleased with the service. Monty was professional and communicative with us from the beginning. Scheduling the paint job was a breeze and the crew showed up both times on schedule. Monty and his crew painted our living room, dining room, kitchen, and just recently, they painted the kids room's. They removed all the hardware before painting, patched up a few holes in the wall, completed the paint job and put all the hardware back into place in less time than expected. We recently relocated from Houston, Texas to Denver, and were referred to Monty by our trustworthy realtor. We met with Monty before the current owners of our home had moved out so he could give us an estimate on 2-3 rooms. We had some unusual circumstances in which we were having flooring installed and painting completed while we were back in Texas getting packed up and moved. This required a great deal of trust on our part, as the work would be entirely finished by the time we got back into town so we could move right in. From start to finish, Monty was very communicative and reliable. He was flexible when we needed to switch our dates, and gracefully worked around our flooring contractors delay in schedule. During our communications, we ended up adding several rooms to the job, which left Monty and his crew almost painting the entire house based on e-mail communication, phone calls, and color swatches we left on the walls for his crew. We had a total of 15 colors, with many accent walls here and there, and he did not make a single mistake on ANY wall, with any color. He communicated day-by-day as to the work being completed, gave us fair and honest pricing, and even went above and beyond to repair and re-paint baseboards the flooring contractors had damaged. We definitely kept Monty on his toes, adding rooms up until the last day (by this time we were able to see most of the completed work, and added rooms because we were so impressed with the quality of work he had done). He never pressured us for payment, and respectfully came to collect the balance a few days after the job was completed. Every person who has seen our new home has commented on how great the paint looks, and we are incredibly happy. As far as I'm concerned, we have found our painter for any future work we might need living in the Denver area. Monty is trustworthy, reliable, professional, and also very personable. I would not hesitate to use he and his crew again, and would eagerly refer him to friends and family. more

Monty and his crew are the best contractors we have ever used. In fact, they are so good we have hired them to paint four different houses over the past 8 years. They are excellent workers with a great work ethic. Their work is without fault. We even moved to the mountains for a few years and had them come up there to do our home; that is how much we trust them. Monty is ethical, fair, and a decent man. He has never given us anything but amazing service and quality. I am a wife, mother, grandmother and accountant who is becoming a certified fraud examiner. After collecting nearly 60% of payment and completing only 15% of the job, MRP Painting failed to honor their agreement and left the job.\r \r After receiving several bids, I hired MRP Painting to paint the complete interior of my house. We agreed upon a total price of $4,042.00 to be paid when the project was complete. Before painting was to begin, I mentioned to the owner (Monte Perez) that I wouldn't be ready to paint until the week of March 21st as I was still completing some basic homeowner repairs. He insisted that he could work around us and begin painting the week of March 14th. He was very persistent in wanting to start that week. Little did I know at the time I was a fill in project for him.\r \r Over the next two days the Monte and several workers (I cannot verify if they were actually his workers/employees or if he was paying them on the side) came into my house and painted the ceilings of five rooms and painted the walls on two bedrooms. I have 16 rooms to paint including a basement\r \r MRP haphazardly used my storage area in the basement to prep and prepare the homes doors for painting. Monte never laid plastic on the concrete or on the plumbing pipes and duct work. I went downstairs with a witness and noticed that Monte had sprayed the concrete floor. I was angry. He said that, ""Most homeowners don't mind if we paint their concrete."" I minded and asked him to remove the paint from the concrete. The following day he continued to paint the doors and the concrete after I asked him not to paint the floors anymore. Monte's offered solution was to paint the floors that he ruined with enamel paint. This solution was not acceptable to me. \r \r After the end of day three Monte presented me a bill me a bill to pay $2,299.00, though the agreement was to pay the bill in full when the work was completed. During our initial conversation he mentioned that he took credit cards. However, when I presented my credit card to him he said he could only take them through PayPal. \r \r I paid some of the bill through PayPal. The following week Monte kept badgering me for payment of the remaining portion of the bill he gave me. ( I remind you that the agreement was to pay when the job was complete and per painting contract law the job has to be completed satisfactorily which it wasn't. ) \r \r For over three days kept asking me to put CASH in the front door so he could pay his painters. He was even telling me how to get the money. (Sounded very shady to me)\r \r The evening before returning to paint Monte came over around 7:45pm. In front of three witnesses, I gave him his balance and Monte told me, in front of everyone else, that he would be at the house the next morning Thursday at 7:30am to continue painting. The next morning I was there at 7:30am and Monte didn't show. At 8:15am I left a message for Monte to call me. No return message. I looked at my email and to my surprise an email with no subject line was sent the night before from MRP Painting that said the following. ""Thanks for the opportunity to paint your house. Unfortunately we will not be returning tomorrow. We left you in good standing with all the paint left at your house. . . Please don't call or respond."" I called Monte and asked him to call me (he still never has) so we could come to an agreement on how to settle the matter since he had ample face-to-face time the previous evening to tell me he was going to WALK OFF THE JOB. \r \r He never responded until I received a myriad of texts from him threatening that he was going to call the building inspector (his buddy) to shut my project down. And in one text he wrote, ""Do you mind if I open your lock box and come on over and let the inspector in?"" After receiving this text I filed a report with the Westminster Police Department. \r \r This behavior is not of a business professional. I do not recommend this individual for any kind of painting job.\r more

His bid is his word...and the bid is very reasonable for the high quality of work provided. I am a repeat customer and refer him every chance I get.
