We recently needed our kitchen renovated and decided to go with Mega after seeing and hearing great reviews from family. We worked with Don and his crew, they did a great job. The crew was very prompt, worked thoroughly including doing a good job cleaning at the end of the day. When I had questions I had access to Don either via phone or email and he was prompt to answer my questions or about getting back to me with answers. When the counter company cut our counter wrong Don was very helpful in getting the correct piece re-ordered Nd delivered ASAP.\r \r Besides the downside of living without use of a kitchen, we loved he work done!!\r \r Thank You Mega! more

My husband and I have been Mega customers for about 5 years. We called them initially because of their ads on the radio. The ads weren’t slick production pieces but just customer testimonials. After that first project in our house, we knew we would be customers for life. It is hard today to find businesses that care about the customer, but Mega cares. They are at your house when they say they are going to be there. They do the work exactly as promised. They follow up to make sure you’re happy with the work. And, in the unlikely event that something needs tweaking or fixing, they are there immediately to solve the problem. You may pay a little more for Mega, but it is worth it! They have replaced my roof, gutters, and downspouts, installed new storm windows and doors, and repaired mistakes that other contractors have made. I cannot even count the many times they have done little things while they were here and have not charged us. Joe and Steve Hogel, along with Don Domanus, are my ""go-to"" people when I need something done in my home. I never hesitate to recommend them. Their awards from the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List are concrete proof that Mega should be the first one on your list to call when you need top-notch home improvement work done. more

I was so glad to have found Mega Pros. The other contractors I had used on my house were just awful. Talked a good story but could not do the work. Well, Mega came to my rescue back in 2005 and I have used them for many other projects. When I bought my condo they helped me redo it entirely - it was a fixer upper and they made it beautiful - from new floors, new woodwork, doors, and eventually all the windows, patio doors, and exterior doors. Their people can be trusted. They follow up on what they say, and overall, their prices are in line with the quality of their work. I would not use anyone else. more

My husband and I began our association with Mega in 2003 when we needed our windows and siding replaced. We got several estimates but something told us to go with them. They did a great job; were wonderful to work with; and were straight-forward in setting up the contract, the required work time and not needing payment until we were satisfied with their completion of the job. When we needed our basement finished, we called them first. They listened to what we wanted, offered great suggestions for an even better look, and gave us a beautiful lower level that our grandchildren use every week. There was no question when we were ready for a new roof, we called ONLY Mega. They even re-roofed our shed for no additional charge so that both roofs matched each other. Our latest Mega project was the tiling of our entryway and some handyman work in our bathroom. Working with Don and all the Mega crew is a joy. We know we can trust what they say will be done. Again when we are ready for our next project, we will call only Mega with confidence that they will do the best job. more

Wow, was I surprised to read the one negative review I see here, because frankly, I would not trust anyone else in the Chicago area to do work on my home. Mega costs more than most, but for a good reason. They are great. They respond to emails, phone calls and even welcome me walking into the office with questions. They are willing to text photos of possibilities back and forth, price out various vendors, they always come when they say they will, they always clean up any mess, they are super flexible working around my schedule. Just as context, these folks replaced my roof, and windows, and replaced nearly every speck of my house: two new bathrooms floor to ceiling and kitchen. more

Mega Home Improvements, Inc. deserves no stars for the roof they installed on my home. They did a tear-down and installed a new roof costing $12,000. Less than six months later it started leaking on the front porch and also around the chimney during a heavy rain. They sent a serviceman who said I would have to pay to have it re-sealed even though I had a 10-year guarantee. Then that winter the roof leaked in different places from the snow. The owner, Steve Hogel, said the leak was weather related and refused to repair it. My insurance adjuster, and another roofer both said that the shingles on my roof had been spaced too far apart. Shoddy workmanship and skimping on the shingles was the reason for the roof leaking. MEGA also changed the contract after I signed it crossing out the 30-year guarantee on the shingles to ten years. They don't honor their warranty anyway! So now I have to sue to get my money back and damages. MEGA IS BAD NEWS!! DISHONEST, CROOKED, DISHONEST,AND SHODDY WORKMANSHIP!!! STAY AWAY!!! more

Considering the thirty plus years I've been in my home I have never experienced the degree of profrssionalism and sincere willingness to do the job right as I experienced with Mike G. and Robin at Mega !\r I have told a number of our close friends, with confidence, to consider Mega. We have had a chimney problem for years, attended to by other ""pros"" but no one got it fixed. Mike knew the anatomy of the beast and solved our problem. They are wonderful people to work with. Five + stars! more

We just recently had the pleasure of having mega out to my home for a new roof. Not only did they show up on time but unlike companies like Comcast or Empire where there is a three hour window of arrival. Mega sets a time and sticks to it. We only had one instance where they were ten minutes late and they called to notify us. We heard of mega on WGN radio and my wife and I both agree that after the job was done, mega customers most certainly say it best. Pros: On time, friendly, and service Cons: Higher than most prices more
