Keiper's plumbers, especially Mark, Joe, and Joe, have done competent, friendly work at my residence; however the owner, Sam Keiper, insists on adding a ""handlng"" charge to his bill when the customer purchases a part from someone other than him in addition to normal labor charges. I paid this extra charge when I purchased a large tub from another vendor in part because Keiper also carries tubs, but when he billed me without explanation or notice for a faucet that I was required to buy from the manufacturer, I paid only the labor charges (the bill did not include the hours work or the labor rate!) and explained why in a letter with my check. The letter was never answered but some months later when I phoned and asked his wife, Gloria Keiper, whether she would send someone to repair a leak, she refused to dispatch a plumber. Fortunately this was not an emergency and another local plumber, Dennis Knecht, (Pocono Pines 570-646-2126) responded the same day and repaired the problem which one of Keiper's people had missed on previous visit. I am not related or friends with either Knecht or Keiper, but strongly recommend that you do not deal with Keipers. They were obstinate, arrogant, and were not willing to communicate to resolve this dispute amicably. And heaven help you if you have an emergency on the weekend!.
Pros: Mark, Joe and Joe (2 plumbers named Joe) are friendly and competent
Cons: Sam and Gloria Keiper charge unreasonable handling fees and refuse to communicate about disputes.
