Worst

When I talked with an agent by telephone I was given a price but then I received an email with a different amount charged. This happened twice. Moral: get things in writing. ...

Use these people, you'll lose!! 4/4/2012

Watch it, I was given a price for a tour package and send in my downpayment money to guarantee the price well before their 30 day window. Later they upped the price on me. For some reason she didn't get it!!? They also do not answer e-mails or faxes. Some times they do not even know how much you have paid towards the total. THey also took money out of my checking account without notifying me on how much they were taking or for what part of the package.\r My contact person in MI did not have her ducks in a row. I asked for pamphlets/brochures of the ship, hotels and sights. Never got any. This person actually never called me, I got information verbally from another person on the tour. She always had to call the MI contact also. Asked for a detailed breakdown of prices charged, that was impossible also. I rate them minus-10 stars\r Never again! more

Try to avoid this company and get everything in writing 6/30/2010

Be very careful when you deal with this company. We were told that if a handicapped member of our family could not be accomodated on the tour, that we would get our deposit money back. This was all verbal, and we did not get our deposit money fully refunded. \r \r Next, we have received a series of e-mails that seem to make it our problem that the company cannot get enough people to go on the tour. The implication of these e-mails was that if we did not get two more people to go on these tours, then we would not qualify for the ""40 person"" rate and that we would need to cover for the two missing spaces. That was not what was advertised. \r \r When this has been pointed out to the person in charge of the tour, she just gets defensive and twists in the wind. We only put up with this since it seems like there would be no way that we would ever get our money back from these people. \r \r I have not been on the tour yet, so maybe it will be a wonderful thing. I have met the person who will be giving the tour and he seems very knowledgeable. I am looking forward to the trip, but I would not have anything to do with this tour company again - so far I am not impressed. Pros: Head of the tour group seems very knowledgeable Cons: Lynott Tours more

Be very very scared of lynott tours - - 3/1/2010

I am not sure what is going on at Lynott Tours, but every encounter i have had with them has been outrageous. \r the owner got on the phone with me and was completely unprofessional and pushey. \r \r I only booked with them because someone from my office recomended them, they have traveled with them 10 years earlier and that should have set off bells. \r \r When we arrived, there was no car rental waiting for us, then we went to the htoel and there was no reservation under our name. We had paid in full to Lynott and none of these items had been taken care of. \r \r We did not recieved out travel documents until 4 days prior to departure. Whenever I called and talked to someone about our documents a different person answered ther phone every time and i had to explain to them the whole thing all over again - -talk about frustrating.\r \r I also emailed them at the end of the trip to tell them about the additional things that happened to us on the trip and request a refund for all the additional charges that we were forced to pay and were told about up front, and they never replied. \r \r I will never use them again and hope that this helps others to find out what Lynott Tours is really like. And Like the other reviewer said just avoid them!!. Spend your money elsewhere. Cons: Trip was terrible because of booking errors, or lack of! more

Very happy with Ireland travel plans 7/23/2008

We were very happy with Lynott Tours and didn't have any problems. We used vouchers, too for hotels and B&B's and found them easy to use. \r \r I guess it all depends on who you talk to. I remember that the person we talked to had an Irish accent and was helpful. We had our first night booked by then at Castle Oaks, which was nice and spent our last night near Shannon Aiport at a B&B because of an early return, both recommended by the gal at Lynott.\r \r We prepaid the colission on the car, which is cheaper if you do it here than at the airport. From what I remember, that was about $10 a day more. Good value - no worrying about knocking off the sideview mirror.\r \r This is the second time I used Lynott Tours in ireland and I have been happy with them.\r Pros: Helpful staff, knowledgable. more

Great knowledge of Ireland 1/5/2008

I dealt with Pam at Lynott Tours, and I just have to let you know what a treasure she is. I was planning a special trip with Lynott Tours for my 50th birthday last year. I don?t often treat myself and I wanted a tour where I could relax, see a good bit of Ireland, and experience a few splurges. I called Lynott Tours because my aunt had traveled with Lynott Tours years ago and was happy with them, and she is a difficult one to please. I planned a 10 day trip, staying at a few B&B?s, two manor houses and as my special treat, a night at Dromoland Castle. The planning process was easy, once Pam and I narrowed down the choices - there were so many B&B?s and hotels on the Lynott program that I was overwhelmed.\r \r We dropped off the car at Shannon Airport without a hassle. I was glad that we had taken out the CDW for the car with Lynott Tours before we left\r \r Sorry this is so long, but I think that when you get good service, you should point that out as well. So many people just write their opinions when they are angry or unhappy. I was happy with Lynott Tours and I plan to use them again for England and Scotland next year. If you have any questions about our trip, just ask.\r more

Avoid 7/17/2007

Lynott Tours is a completely unprofessional operation. We took our honeymoon with them and they got our hotel reservation wrong and failed to send us our Heritage Pass, which we paid for, and we were forced to buy another one. They also got the number of days for our car rental wrong. They also failed to disclose the entire cost of renting a cell phone and wound up costing us an extra 100+ dollars. We were also led to believe that we were pre-paying insurance for the rental car but wound up having to fork over an extra $230 when we rented the car. Whenever I called and talked to anyone besides the owner of the company, no one knew anything and couldn't help me at all. When I emailed them at the end of the trip to tell them about all the mistakes and to request a refund for the Heritage Pass, they never replied. Book with Lynott Tours at your own risk. Better yet, just avoid them. Pros: Our plane reservations were fine. Cons: The plane reservations were the only part Lynott Tours didn't handle for us. more
