Always a good time 2/27/2010

We live up in Waycross, Ga and love visiting my hometown of Jax beach. No trip is complete without a visit to L.I.P. It's convienently located right across from the pier with great waitstaff and cold beer. It's relaxing (in the daytime) for a nice break from the heat. At night it's crowded and quite fun, the entertainment is quite raucous and always makes for a good time. We love to take our northern and western friends to the beach when they visit the South and we ALWAYS take them to Lynch's. Pros: You can smoke in a bar in Florida. Cons: Crowded at night. more

A piece of local history. 9/4/2007

I must disagree with the previous reviewer as I believe that he/she didn't give the place a chance. I myself have been a regular at Lynch's for around eight years now and do not like people bad-mouthing the place. Yes, it's far from perfect but there is a lot to be said about the ambience that Lynch's holds which, in my opinion, supercedes any negative attributes it may possess. Nevertheless, in a way Lynch's may have become a victim of it's own success as far as it being super-crowded late night but there a some very obvious reasons why it has become one of Jacksonville's most famous watering holes - all of those people can't be wrong, right? Pros: Atmosphere / Pricing / Location Cons: Sometimes a little overcrowded late night. more

The best pub in Jacksonville - by far! 8/19/2006

In a time where everyone else seems to have gone poser crazy, Lynch's continues to stay true to the cause and is easily still the best watering hole in the area. This place continues to provide excellent, free entertainment and reasonably priced drinks. The service is very good and the food is surprisingly, for a pub, decent. I also like the way that Lynch's does not cater to any specific type of clientele only and that they have around a 50/50 men to women split. This place is unlike any other in Jacksonville with customers ranging from NFL players to doctors to even some members of the clergy. I love this place........ Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

I really enjoy going out to Lynch's. The service is great, the bouncers are understanding and the crowd is enjoyable. It allows smoking so sometimes it can get bad. The bartenders are cool and understand that they work at a bar and will be rushed at times. And it is Irish so what's not to love. more

I have tried out the new so-called Irish Pubs in Jacksonville and none of them come close to Lynch's. It is so obvious that the new places are trying to be so much like the original Pub but they all fail miserably. Keep up the good work LIP. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

My favorite 6/28/2003

This place is a great place to go. People are always up for some good conversation. The food is outstanding (especially the burgers!) The prices are very reasonable. They have a lot of choices in beers including my favorite (Guinness of course!). Infact, I think Ill drive down there right now! Pros: nice people, good food, smoker friendly more

Hidden Wonder 11/13/2002

What a wonderful place to find good comfort food. The Scotch egg was a pleasant supprise, and the coconut shrimp were sooo sweet. The pastry on top the Irish stew flaked apart at a touch, and the chunks of meet were so tender and big. AND they had WOODCHUCK!!!!!!!!! (a draft cider). The service was excellent and the locals colorful. This is a nice place to take even the children for lunch. Sit by the window and watch the parade of local color pass, or sit at the bar and become a part of the local color, either way this place is a winner! Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Great food Cons: Hidden Parking, stew was salty more

I love this place! 8/1/2002

I love going to Lynch's with friends..it's a blast! Food is good, music is great and beer is awesome. I have visited both locations Jax and St. Augustine and I always have a wonderful time. more
