Lush is incredible. They are an international chain store with Berkeley attitude - lots of vegan products clearly marked, no toxic chemical fragrances, whole foods like seaweed an...

aggressive and angry salesman discourages shopping 3/30/2009

I appreciate how their products are handmade and often are free of artificial colorings. I have found a few items such as their shampoo bars and shaving creams to be effective. The Prince shaving cream is around twenty dollars for 7.5 ounzes yet it is so effective that I have been willing to use it exclusively. Usually the staff is respectfully helpful but one particular longtime employee at the Powell street store is particularly aggressive and in your face. This has made for some bizarre interactions that cause me to avoid this location. Pros: effective handmade natural products Cons: obnoxious in your face salesman;one bad egg more

going bad after 1-1/2 months of being stored is too soon 3/25/2009

This place has more high-pressure salespeople than the Union Street location. I wonder if they're on commission too? Anyhoo, they at least have a better selection of merchandise, and the displays were really pretty and conducive to making you want to shop for more even if you were just looking in the first place anyway. The only problem I have is that since their products are sooo fresh, supposedly, it has such a small shelf-life too. For a bar of bubblebath that costs $7, it going bad after 1-1/2 months of being stored in my cabinet is too soon. more

Love it! 2/17/2009

My sisters and I all fell inlove with Lush when we found out about in Hawaii. The staff are always great conversationalists and are very informed about Lush product. I love the moisterizer called Imperialis. It's amazing! Also the shamoo called Happy Hippy! I love it all. more

Good stuff!! 8/12/2004

I have to admit I'm super-picky about what I put on my skin, but Lush has made the A list. Recommended: 1. "Aromacreme" deodorant 2. "Coalface" (face soap) 3. "Into thin air" (massage bar) 4. "Angels on bare skin" (face cleanser) 5. "Plantational" (bar shampoo) Also tried "Back for breakfast" (body wash) but it was a tad too drying... Their other shampoos and lotions didn't quite cut it for me, either... but the abovementioned products are a staple now! Pros: good products, friendly service more

Yes, I am! 7/13/2004

A Lushee, that is... It's true that in Canada you can get wonderful Lush stuff for cheaper, particularly with the exchange rate, but for my dollar, it's worth it. The bubble bath bars are the cat's meow--break 'em into pieces to get more bubbles for your buck; the bath bombs are delicious (Butterballs are a bargain and result in ultra-soft skin!) Finally, Lush in the States! Whooopeee! more

Could be better 4/22/2004

The prices are way to high, cheaper to fly to Canada for the products, especially since that is where they make them as they can not make them in the US I am told by the staff. HUM, so I looked at the ingredients and it maybe FRESH but not good for most of your body. I say shop local companies that make it here with solid ingredients such as HYDRA and SUMBODY. Pros: touristy Cons: , Expensive, F more

Are you a Lushee 12/10/2003

Lush is an excellent store to stop by in SF. If you are a visitor staying at a hotel go nuts and pick up bath bombs and bubble bath and use it in your hotel bath tub. Let them worry about washing the tub and towels when you leave. If you are a local you will become an addict a.k.a "Lushee." The staff is quite friendly and the products prove to be the most inexpensive luxurious bath products next to a trip to a day spa! Pros: the fresh smell, easy transit, the location Cons: habit forming more
