WOW...Fantastic 5/25/2010

Myself and a few of my friends were in there for dinner last week and we have been there many times before...We were excited to see that the menu had been updated and were very excited to try some things. We had the Fried Risotto, Tuna Carpaccio and it was a fantastic start the night..they were fantastic. Then we had the Pork Porterhouse, Swordfish Picatta, Pancetta Filet and the half chicken(loved the white bean side)..WOW I was very impressed and will let my friends know that the new menu is great!! I will be back again soon to try some of the other new items. Thank you for the fantastic dinner.. Pros: Food and Service more

Great Service!! 5/3/2010

We held our quarterly managers meeting this evening at the Luna Rosa, and were pleasantly surprised how wonderful the staff made the service so personalized. We are in the food industry as well, and take customer service, quality, and environment to be the top keys to a successful business and experience. From the moment I reserved the room, to ordering the meal, it was very notable service. We were even greeted by the new Manager and Head Chef. Impressive! The food was outstanding, and the flavor was ambrosial. We look forward to revisiting soon. Pros: New menu and personalized service Cons: olive pit on pizza more

Absolutely Fantastic Experience 10/17/2008

I was at Luna Rossa last night with 2 friends and all of us agreed it was the best dining experience we had ever had. The atmosphere was fantastic, the waiter had a thick Italian accent and offered great suggestions, the food was out of this world good. We had the penne carbonara, beef tenderloin in gorgonzola sauce and the special of the day which was pork medallions in a tenderloin sauce. If you are thinking about going to this restaurant you should not hesitate, it is fabulous. Pros: Ambiance, Food more

Horrible service, forgettable food and be fussy about where you're seated! 7/5/2008

We didn't pay attention to the tip to be choosy about seating, and the host put us at a table right at the door to go out to the patio, so our only romantic ambiance was the busy foot traffic broken by the occasional tumbleweed of lettuce or cellophane from the outside. I wish I was kidding. Our server Colin took 20 minutes to show up, made no mention of specials, seemed surprised that we were ready to order, and left an empty bread basket on our plate from the moment he arrived to the moment we left (no offer either to refill or remove). We saw him perhaps five times over a lengthy dining experience while at a table nearby a fellow waitress appeared to be taking good care of her clients. The service would have injured better food than we were served. A ""crispy"" stuffed mushroom appetizer arrived swimming in sauce; the flavor wasn't bad, but nothing special either. My husband liked the saltimbocca, but stay away from the texture-free cheese festival that is the lasagna. We had no patience to stay around for dessert and will not be going back for it. Pros: Convenient to Stillwater shopping district Cons: Service, Food Quality, Ambiance (If You Don't Specify Seating) more

Good food and delightful server 6/17/2008

My partner and I (along with our young children) were shopping in the historic downtown Stillwater area on Father's Day when we decided to stop into Luna Rossa for a late lunch. The place was decidely busy for our server (who seemed to be one of two people running the place on a holiday?!) but she was a delight! She was friendly and prompt, and the food was delectable (try the pizza!) and the drinks were just strong enough to feel like you were getting what you paid for. Our only complaint was the bread: it seemed to be a few days old and there was only white bread as an option. That aside, we will definitely go back. Pros: Food, Server, Ambience Cons: Parking was difficult to find on the weekend more

great food and atmosphere 1/16/2006

Dined last Saturday at Luna Rossa. Sat at a nice table in the bar area. Live music was great touch. Service... good. Food... delicious. Chicken Saltimbocca was excellent...very rich and filling. Husband had grilled Salmon...just okay. Excellent tiramisu. Great wine at reasonable prices. Will dine here again. more

Enjoyable Evening 9/27/2005

My family recently visited Luna Rosa and we had the best service and the greatest food that we have ever eaten! We started our meal with orders of calamari and bruschetta, both were very good! The calamari was the best I have every had! Then we had the soup it was seafood chowder- it was delicious! For my entree, I had the manicotti- it was wonderful! The others had New York Strip and Halibit, both excellent! For desert we ordered a variety and shared - it was the perfect end to a wonderful meal! The wine selection is excellent- my very favorite was Moscato! We were also lucky enough to be there when they had live music- it made our evening even more enjoyable! Pros: Delicious Food, Great Service, Comfortable Cons: Parking more

great food and live music 2/25/2005

wait staff attentive, good menu variation, live music adds to ambience. I ordered the steak gorgonzola, which was excellent, the desserts were also wonderful. Pros: food, entertainment Cons: parking more

Great food, bad service 2/14/2005

Had reservations for 6:30 and were seated at 6:50. We had asked for a nice table when the reservations were made 2 weeks in advance. Wait person (male) brought salad/soup after main course was serverd. He mumbled about having the manager give us free dessert, we did not get any free dessert. We were seated at a small table above where the one man band blared poorly sung Neil Diamond songs. They had to move the tray tables that were stacked against the wall to allow us to sit down. Waited 15 min. for check as wait person walk past our table a dozen times. Great food, ask for female wait person and do not sit by the one man band area. Pros: Food Cons: service, male singer, seating more
