I went there on a Sunday afternoon for some rare time off with my husband. We sat at a table outside along the sidewalk, under an umbrella. The restaurant sits on a busy corner, so there is a lot of street traffic but that is to be expected in an urban environment such as this. The atmosphere was relaxed but definitely not sleepy, comfortable but stylish. \r
The purpose of our visit was to enjoy some Sangria and Tapas, and this was our first time at Lulu (which we found via urbanspoon). The food was a bit pricey, but everything we ate was very tasty and appeared, to us, to be fresh. We have been burned at other tapas restaurants before where the food obviously came out of a box, but the food here seemed from scratch. The food had some unique combinations and different flavors that were a welcome change from the usual appetizers one can get just about anywhere. We had the fried green tomatoes (a rarity on a S.FL menu), goat cheese croquettes, shichimi corn, chorizo, flat bread and asparagus. Oh, and the sangria. Everything was good, we had no complaints about any of it.\r
During our visit, a storm moved through, and the staff moved us inside and waited on us (as we ordered more food and more sangria), and then when the sky cleared again at our request they moved us back outside. The staff did this with a friendly smile and great hospitality, which is so hard to find in South Florida. While it seemed to take a long time for food to arrive after we placed each order, our waiter kept our drinks fresh and checked on us regularly. \r
Restrooms are up a flight of stairs (2 unisex one-toilet rooms), and at our visit there was only one working toilet (the other restroom actually had no toilet at all), so there was often quite the line. \r
Again, the food and drinks were quite pricey (either that or we stayed too long and ordered too much!) but we will definitely go back.
