Best

Went here with some friends I was visiting, and we had a great time. I love the idea of the lounge, bar, bowling alley hybrid. The drinks were really good, at a totally reasona...

Worst

Lucky Strike. The name alone suggests that this is a bowling alley first and foremost. It was not named to be a bar, or a pool hall, but a bowling alley. As such, I would have ...

Come here if you like to pay more and be ignored!!! 11/6/2006

After reading the previous reviews, I wasn't really expecting much, and I had been here once before when it was a busy Saturday night with a large group and the service was so-so, but I thought maybe it was just cuz it was busy. Well, a group of 4 of us went there for bowling, food, and alcoholic beverages on a Saturday afternoon where there were maybe at most 20 customers, and the service still sucked, actually it was more like non-existent. There were 2 hostesses who directed us to the bowling area, 1 guy (who was actually helpful) running the bowling lanes/rental shoes, 2 bartenders, and 3-4 waitresses. We went to our lane and were ready to order lots of food and drinks cuz we were starving and ready to have a good time.... but did a single waitress come by to take our order? No. I was ready to plunk down over $50-$100 on food and drinks alone and not one single waitress came by to take our order the entire 1-1/2 hours we were there. There were 3-4 waitresses standing around the bar doing nothing but talking to each other and trying to look attractive, but not actually w-o-r-k-i-n-g. It wasn't even busy! Just less than 20 patrons! We got fed up and left and spent our money elsewhere for food and drinks. This would be such an awesome place to hang out if it weren't for the crappy service. I actually live really close by and would frequent the place if it were worth going to, but it's not. Pros: Great location, nice setup: bowling, pool hall Cons: crappy service, nonexistent service, lack of service more

great spot unless you are overly dramatic/sensitive 10/9/2006

kwakey is crazy and maybe a little over sensitive! they have a dress code! its posted at the front door! it had nothing to do with the fact that you were an ""inter-racial"" couple... c'mon! it says right on the sign at the front door... ""no hats, no sleeveless shirts""!!! this isn't the normal bowling alley. you don't grab a pitcher of beer and bowl with your league... this is a higher end type place so of course theyre gonna have a dress code. i know because my friend couldn't come in because she had on sweat pants... and you know what... now that i think about it i think they were discriminating against us because we are a mixed couple... she's polish and i'm irish... it has nothing to do with the posted dress code... no ... they were discriminating. doesn't that sound a little silly? get over it KWAKEY! Pros: great setting Cons: too many hip-hop thugs more

Great place but questionable ethics 8/24/2006

Let's just put it this way. We are an interracial couple who are just friends that tried to get into Lucky Strike on a Friday night around 7. We were dressed to the nine wearing berets and he was wearing a stylish shirt. We were first told at the door we don't allow hats so we took ours off. Then he said we don't allow sleeveless shirts...as I looked inside I see guys with baseball caps on. C'mon people this is a BOWLING ALLEY. This had nothing to do with what we were wearing. I will never walk in another Lucky Strike again. And as far as Jalikit's comments on your ""cons"" as ""too many hip hop folks""....hmm....that's an interesting comment. Sounds a bit hypocritical, don't you think? more

Good Food...But Worst Service Ever!! 6/28/2006

As I said, it could quite possibly be the worst service I've ever received in a restaurant. the waitresses are too busy being hootchie to serve you quickly. I have gotten better service at Mcdonalds then here. But, I guess that is the way they are supposed to be because people keep coming back, and I have to admit, the turkey burker I ordered was one of the best I have ever had..Overall, good place to spend some money, food is good, service bad, but if you don't mind and have time, I say check it out. more

Rude, rude, rude 5/28/2006

This place would be fantastic but for the rude staff. The people manning the host stand will see you coming and then turn their backs on you and wait for you to go away. When you finally get their attention, they tell you there are no tables, but when you go to one of the bars, you can find plenty of open tables. Pros: good food, nice decor, plenty of TV's Cons: staff, staff, staff more

What's customer service? 3/6/2006

There was over a 2 hour wait for lanes on a Thursday night; there was no wait staff on the billiards floor to take orders for our drinks; and there was a 10 minute wait at the bar to get drinks with 2 bartenders working, 2 patrons waiting, and 3 waitresses waiting for their orders. It was difficult to enjoy the trendy decor and atmosphere. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: No service, Inconsiderate staff more

Decent Fun, Good atmosphere 1/21/2006

The food and drinks are good (great onion rings!). The bar area is comfortable and spacious. Any reservations for bowling lanes have to be made at least 24 hours in advance. No reservations taken for pool tables. Great audio/visual experience with plenty of sports. Nice lighting and feel. Service is ok. I just ignore the people at the front and head straight to the bar. The bar maids are cute and pretty attentive. They could smile more. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: Service, Availability lanes, Availability of table more

Great Location - Awful Service 1/15/2006

One of the worst customer service encounters you will experience in the city. The rude and slow greeting at the host/hostress stand is most definitely an indicator of the experience ahead of you. I had to wait over 20 minutes for a beer and my friend waited 5 minutes longer for a Bloody Mary. The food is fast once someone comes to your table and takes you order but you have to wait for at least 15 minutes for them to come to your table. I have been there more than once to give them a chance but the service is consistently bad. It doesn't matter if they are busy or dead you will get same slow service not matter what. Pros: TV's, Bowling Cons: Customer Service , Wait, Value more
