Lucke Plumbing and Heating

I had a problem with my sewer so I called a local plumber to rod it and they wanted to dig up a busy street to fix my broken sewer which would have costed me thousands of dollars! So I decided to get a second opinion after talking to a man I met at Cotsco who happened to work at Wilmette Lucke Plumbing. He came over and met me in the afternoon when I could be home and camered my sewer line and then showed me that there was no break in the pipe line and explained what was wrong to me.....turns out I did not have to have the street dug up and these guys explained all that was wrong to me and saved me a ton of money! It is nice to know that there are reliable ,honest plumbers at Wilmette Lucke Plumbing! I recommend these guys to EVERYONE! they are terrific! more

Can't believe I almost fell for the biggest plumbing scam ever. I called this arlington heights plumber thinking I would be saving money calling someone from out of the northshore well I was sorely mistaken. They showed me this video from a camera that supposedly went through my pipes, where there was a huge root going straight through our sewer line and was the sole reason our drains were getting clogged (and needed to be rodded) every year. It was only going to get worse I was told and if I acted now, under a special yellow pages discount program they would only charge 6k to dig up my front yard. Well, as a matter of coincidence my neighbor was out side when the plumber showed up and told me he found this other LOCAL guy on google, and he seemed trust worthy enough so I thought I should get a second opinion. The second company was LUCKE plumbing in wilmette, they came out that evening. told me they could resolve the clogging problem with some hydro jet something or other and would only cost me a fraction of the cost. I am not handy at all. After growing up in the city, I have grown accustomed to simply calling the superintendent anytime something goes wrong. Since moving to the burbs, I've had to find contractors who I can count on to help me. A friend recommended Lucke Plumbing and so I decided to give them a call. I will not justify the previous review by responding to it. Unfortunatly, sometimes when a customer does not pay their bill, you have to lien their house. The customer would then be upset and gets on the internet and slams your company with unverified lies. It is interesting that before the lien and the review, a customer was happy to have us offer to come over for free to repair a few items that were left by their bankrupt general contractor. Beyond bad! These guys were unreliable, didn't return phone calls from me or our GC, and had to do everything twice. Whatever they didn't do twice doesn't work. They made messes that they never cleaned up. Instead of moving clothing and an ironing board near where they were working, they thought nothing of splattering soder all over them. We added an addition, including a bathroom onto our house and our GC chose these guys. They installed radiant heat in our new bathroom -- the floor doesn't even get warm, much less heat the whole bathroom. The sewer stack in the attic was never fed through the roof, so it is releasing toxic-smelling fumes into our attic. The pipes leading to the radiator heating in one room bang so badly that they wake my children up in the morning. They bled the radiators repeatedly without fixing anything. I'm not sure exactly what happened on the day when water was streaming into the kitchen from above from the new bathroom - I never got a straight answer. Despite repeated calls to have them test the pipes leading to the new bathroom before the walls were closed up, they never came. They came after the walls were closed up to test the pipes -- they leaked, of course. The walls had to be opened up to be fixed. Use anyone else besides these guys!
