My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Luca and it was fabulous. As requested, they reserved us a great little table by the window. The treated us like honored guests on o...

My friend and I went here for dinner. Our server was mediocre at best. He did not know what was on the tasting menu at all, did not know the three sorbets and only once did he top...

I still have dreams about my meal at Luca. 3/29/2005

What could be better? Absolutely amazing dishes (the gnocchi is a must). No Italian restaurant I have been to in Denver comes close. Pros: Fantastic Menu, Attentive Staff, No Pretension Cons: It isn't free :) more

Wow 2/18/2005

Incredible combination of food, service and wine. Rabbit three ways is to die for. Talking with the staff and somellier added immensely to the overall experience. Highly recommended! Great date night. Pros: Food, Service, Wine more

Luca this Italian! 12/18/2004

No spaghetti and meatballs at this place... instead you'll find exquisite, well presented dishes that will make your palate sing! We started with the Salumi, Calamari, and Duck Liver Ravioli. All were good but I can't say enough about the Ravioli. The balsamic reduction that covered them made this dish incredible! For entrees we tried the Duck Cacciatore, the Grilled Prawns, and the Rabbit Three Ways. Again, all were sensational but I would have the rabbit dish every day, if I could. The wine list features only Italian selections, most priced over $30. The Chocolate Gelato in Amaretto sauce served as a wonderful finish. Luca must be experienced if you're a serious foodie. Pros: Excellent Food, Free Valet, Great Service more

Food you can't stop thinking about 9/30/2004

From the moment the fusili touched my mouth, I was in heaven. The creamy buttery sauce was extraordinary: just enough to make you savour each bite, but not too much that it's overpowering the delicateness of the fusili itself. Since that dinner, I can't stop thinking about having another bite of that dish. Pros: Food, Waitstaff more

Incredible! 7/18/2004

We use the Gabby Gourmet as a food Bible, and it rated Luca as a TO DIE FOR. Let me tell you, that rating did not do Luca justice. The service was amazing from the hostess and bartender, to the server and chef. The Salumi and vegies were great apps, but the tuna and the Veal en Corroza was out of this world. Best Italian food ever! Pros: Service, Food more

impressive 7/5/2004

I had the calamari, bresaola, rabbit 3 ways, and the chocolate torte. Absolutely amazing- the freshness and ingredients illuminate the dishes. Waitstaff are attentive and educated in viticulture. Ask for a wine suggestion and get the saltimbocca since I didn't try it on my first visit. Pros: fine ingredients, balanced flavors, wine list more

amazing food 6/24/2004

We've been going to Luca since the doors opened a year ago. The restaurant has a lively, inviting vibe; the service is flawless, and the food is consistently amazing. Ask for waiters Noel or Brandon and they'll perfectly pair your food and wine. The pastas, the breads, and even the meats are cured in-house--it's just one of those places where unexpected attention to detail abounds. --Especially good for several small courses and trading bites. We leave satiated every time. Pros: truly Italian, valet parking, flawless service more

Some of the best I've had 7/18/2003

I was first introduced to Luca d'Italia while travelling from San Francisco to Denver on business. I was familiar with Mizuna, so naturally had high expectations for Luca. What can I say-they exceeded my expectations on all fronts. It is a nice, contemporary dining room that maintains a level of comfort, the service is professional without being stuffy, and the food is simply some of the best Italian food I've ever had...period. I will definitely stop at Luca d'Italia every time I come to town! Pros: outstanding food, professional service, contemporary decor Cons: no patio/outdoor seat more

Fine Dining 7/12/2003

Luca D'Italia is a wonderful restaurant. I recently dined there and I had an amazing experience. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was classy and welcoming. The crab gnocchi was tantalizing and the roasted whole fish was succulent - my waiter even de-boned it for me! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to treat yourself to a wonderful meal. I was a little shocked to read the last poster's review entitled ""Food Portions"". Was she expecting fast food? This is a very nice restaurant and it says specifically on the menu that the pasta portions are appetizer sized, as is a multi-course Italian meal. It also says you can order larger sizes if you ask. Everything I experienced was beyond my expectations, and I am accustomed to dining in nice restaurants. Pros: food, service, ambiance Cons: reserve ahead more

Food Portions 7/2/2003

I went to Luca d' Italia for the first the time the other day. Our waiter took over 8 minutes to take a drink order, and took another 10 min. to bring the bottle of wine. He did not explain the ""appetizer"" size, which literally, I ordered Gnocchi, and there were two full forkfuls of food, and that was it. This sized appetizer does not follow the tradition of American OR Italian sizes. The food was good, but was barely there. The appetizer was $11, for two bites! I tried to speak with our waiter, who was busy talking to all patrons except my table (???), but he did not care. So, I don't care, and I would NEVER go back to this place. Cons: EXTREMELY expensive, Unintrigued service, Two bite appetizers more
