Not Good... 11/13/2011

(SLC, UT) Went in their earlier this week and mostly worked with the general manager, Dave, who was a real nice, "understanding of my stress" type of guy. I told him more than once that I didn't want to have a high payment so they took what I said and doubled it to make it easier for me. And then, when I told them I wanted a zero down payment they said it would be $1,000...so I told them I want to do $500. They asked about my van, I said I could use it in as a trade-in and they said it would knock the down payment to $500...but it didn't (still stayed at $1,000). I paid the $500 and then they wanted another $500 within 1-2 days and they kindly kept my van I had just signed over to them. I found out all of this sweet news after signing over everything. All-in-all they are very caring guys...until you start signing papers. The dishonesty came out and they screwed me. I'm SO HAPPY my deal was canceled because I was 1099 instead of W-2 (they even asked me to lie to capital one and change my 1099 commissions to an hourly W-2 wage). You have no idea how much weight was off my shoulders when I found out the deal couldn't be done. I wasn't going to lie to capital one and try and change my wages. I learned that you always ask first and make sure they have it in writing to how you want the deal done, otherwise they'll stick it to you and could care less about how your bills and pocketbook look like at the end of the month, they only care about theirs. more

these guys rock! 8/8/2011

I bought a used BMW and ended up having some issues that needed repairs. Low Book stepped up 110% and I was incredibly impressed with the CEO's personal involvement in rectifying ALL the issues I had. He even got me parts and service at highly rediced prices. These guys are truly stand up people and a pleasure to deal with. Don't go anywhere else- these guys rock! more

They were polite. 8/4/2011

Finally a car dealer that does it right. The price was on the window. All the cars were certified and came with a warranty. They were polite. I love Low Book Sales and would go back for my next car. Also, the car I purchased was not the car I really wanted. When I went back to the dealership, they switched me into another vehicle (A Ford F350) that I really loved. Thanks Low Book!!!! more

What to expect 10/22/2010

MY EXPECTATIONS: Went here shopping for a new car, and had a car to sell or trade-in. My trade in was clean, no problems, runs great, etc. I considered it Good to Excellent. Nada: Rough Trade-In $1225, Average Trade-In: $1900, Clean Trade-In:$2450. Clean Retail: $4200 BlueBook: Excellent $1,800, Good $1,500, Fair $1,000, Retail Value $4,310 Edmunds True Market Value: Trade In:$1,798, Private Party:$2,583, Retail: $3,411 After having a few car dealers estimate the trade in, I was learning they all come in on the low end of these estimates, so I was expecting around $1000 offer from LBS. The offer came in at $350! LOL! Basically, they want to buy from me for $350, then detail it and try to sell it for $4000. I understand its a business, but come on people! I still laugh when I think about it. There were only a few cars I was interested in on the lot, and checking them out online with basic research they were OVERPRICED using the same tools and the Retail Values. I wonder where the term Low Book Sales comes from, cause it sure doesn't seem that way? LONG STORY SHORT on my experience: They will offer you WAY less than your car is worth. They will waste your time with an offer. They will charge you more than the car is worth. Unless you are SEVERELY DESPERATE to buy or sell a car (i.e. your call wont sell to anyone or you have horrible credit, or...) I wouldn't recommend LBS. more

Wouldn't buy from them again 12/2/2009

We went there and it was like going to any other dealership. Salesmen told us they would take care of first payment. First payment due date came and went then we got a letter from bank saying it was Delinquent. Called the office a few times never got a call back. I had to go in and talk to someone. He said sorry just like he should have and gave me the check. The bank said that since it was their fault for the late fee they should pay it and I agree 100% I talked to the "General Manager" and he said well it looks like we paid more than what the salesmen said we would. The reason why they paid more is because the sales man said if we go with this bank the term would be this long and the intrest rate would be this much. Turns out he lied. The bank wouldn't do either so the term went down and the intrest went up and that mean the payment did to. So I had to argue with the "general manager" because he thinks because the payment went up and they had to pay the whole thing they shouldn't have to take care of the late fee either. In the end he said ok pay the late fee and bring in a reciept and we will give you a check for it. This is NOT how customers should be treated anywhere. If a salesmen says they are going to do something then they need to follow through and make sure it gets done. Also if the sales man is lying he should be fired for doing this. If we had known how much the payment was going to be we probly wouldn't have gotten the car from them. Also they said they would give us 200$ for our trade in when it Blue Books at 2200. Can you say RIP OFF? Pros: none Cons: too many to mention more

Friendly sales people, low finance rates 7/9/2009

had a great experience here. the friendly sales staff helped me find a nice ride. i probably could've gotten a little better deal if i looked around, but it was an easy process with the no haggle pricing so i went for it. i would go back here again for another car. Pros: no haggling Cons: nothing more

Got a New Car with Bad Credit... Thanks Low Book Sales 11/20/2008

I liked that I got treated like a person and didn't get the usual slimey sales talk that I have received at other dealerships. The guy who helped me was straight-forward and answered all of my questions. I ended up walking away with a new car, and even though I had some fees I am just glad I was approved with my horrible credit. Low Book Sales has a really good selection and a friendly staff, so I would recommend going there if you are in Utah and have a location nearby. Pros: Great Selection, Friendly Staff more
