Love's Seafood Restaurant

After 14 years we decided to try the catfish again, the dinner was excellent. Our waitress Beverly was very pleasant and had a beautiful personality. Thanks Beverly. We should be back again, soon this time. Thank you! more

My sister & I took a very dear friend (who is a very recent widow) out to dinner Saturday evening to take her mind of her worries. We sat on the patio at the table closest to the river for the view, our server was incredible. Her name was Jezebel (truthfully) I had a hard time calling her that so I just called her honey. She asked if our friend was alright she looked upset and could she get anything for her. I thought that was so nice of her. She kept the drinks coming, the food was out fast, hot and delicious. My friend thanked us for taking her there, her husband loved the water and she just felt closer to him sitting out there. more

Love's is one our favorite restaurants. We love the fried catfish with the bones. My also loves the fried shrimp. We had excellent service tonight. more

We love coming to Love's. The food is excellent, portions more than fair, and prices are reasonable. The waitstaff is the most courteous and prompt. Love's has the very best salads in all of savannah- fresh crisp and cold. more

Very nice atmosphere, our server Tiffany was very patient, curteous and helpful. The food was excellent. We very much enjoyed our SUnday lunch together here and will no doubt return again. more

We live in the Atlanta area but everytime we get down to Savannah or St. Simons Island we make a point of going to Love's Seafood. We went a few months ago and it was wonderful, as usual. We have taken many relatives and friends over the years and have never been disappointed. Our favorite is the White Gulf Shrimp dinner. Now, those same friends and relatives make it a must stop whenever they travel anywhere near Savannah. Our Georgia District Civitans are having it's convention in August, 2011 and we already have a group planning to drop by Love's for good seafood, good service, a beautiful sunset over the river and many smiling faces.. We just can't wait! more

I went to Love's 40 years ago when it was not much more than a little ""hole in the wall"" and am still going today. As a native Savannian, and one who has been to almost every restaurant in our lovely city, I think Love's has the very best seafood anywhere. The food and service is consistently great. I have sent many of my out of town business associates there and they all go back every time they come in town. My children who are now grown and living elsewhere, always like to go to Love's when they come to Savannah. We had a ""going off to college"" party there for my son and have also enjoyed many great family gatherings there over the years. Not many restaurants have been around as long as they have, experienced growth, and retained their great reputation. It's the greatest in my book! I love Love's. more

we have been going to love's for years every time we go to Savannah. We usually go twice during the week we are there. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family. The food is wonderful and the views of the river and sunset georgeous. more

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. For starters, our waitress could not tell the difference between a Blanc and a Cabernet. Even though she was a new waitress I thought, being a waitress myself, she should still have had some idea about the drinks she was serving. We were very polite and patient with her when we told her the wine was wrong, but when she returned she expressed to us how upset the bartender was about the drink order and having to change it. We were not asked if we would like to order an appetizer nor did she tell she tell us, even though she obviously knew, that it would be a long wait because the kitchen staff was behind so we ordered our entrees right away. After about an hour the waitress began gossiping with us about the kitchen staff and explained that our food was taking so long because they did not like her. We then after asked to speak to a manager who also gossiped about how the waitress was responsible because she forgot to put our order in and how the cooks were not at fault. We were served one more round of drinks, in which the waitress insisted we tell her what the manager had to say about her and the situation. We received our food almost 2 hours after being sat. As we were walking out I saw 3 waitresses hanging around the bar and heard several other tables discussing and complaining about the bad service. I could not honestly point a finger at the waitress, the cooks, or the manager. But I can honestly say that it was the worst service I have ever received, I will never eat there again nor will I recommend it to anyone. more

Ordered carryout this past weekend. The food was O.K. I actually liked the seasoning on the fish. However, they forgot ALL of our coleslaw and when I called to complain, I was told they were ""sorry"" and next time I came in, I would get a free coleslaw. We ordered catfish for 3 of the plates. I don't know what kind of fish was on 2 of the plates, but it wasn't catfish. I'm from Southwestern Georgia, grew up catching and eating catfish all my life and ""that weren't catfish!"" We compared it with the 3rd catfish plate and it was NOT the same. Since I live 4 1/2 hours away, I doubt I'll be back. Spent almost $100 for this carryout food and would expect the service to be better. Two of the plastic carryout plates were actually melted which made me worry about the chemicals that were released into the food and the missing coleslaw was the icing on the cake! Won't be back next time we visit Savannah. more

Last time I ate at Loves I ordered the scored flounder and when I got my food the plate was huge! It was prepared perfectly and it was delicious! My husband and I got a bottle of wine to go with our dinner and they have a wonderful wine list with many different wines to choose from. Our server Amanda was so sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back and I would recommend Loves to everyone. more
