Things went very wrong 12/5/2010

I knew something was up when they were the only available company at the end of June 2010. Every other company was booked for the week and week after the end of the month, but they had plenty of availability.\r \r I was very weary, made sure to get a contract faxed over, went thru all the possible extra charges (which there are plenty - TV, anything glass, rentals for wardrobe boxes, fuel, etc)\r \r Guys showed up on time. They actually did a good job, we were out of the apartment in a timely fashion and everything was handled well.\r \r Here is where things went slightly wrong. I was moving from Queens to Manhattan. Because of this we had added a fourth mover as we didn't expect to be able to park the truck in the most ideal location. We were able to park much closer than expected, in a legal spot. They decided to park the truck away from the curb blocking another lane. They also parked the truck with the back into a fire hydrant area, they could have moved it forward an hour in to the move more

An Excellent Job 2/19/2009

A few weeks ago one of their expert teams transported our family's possessions from one side of the town to the other. Although the move was small in distance, it was big in size since we had lived at the previous residence for 14 years. The team were not only respectful of our belongings, they were actually fun to be around.The men meticulously disassembled and wrapped all of our things, carefully packed the truck, all the while joking about who was less experienced than the other. Obviously this was just friendly banter as they all knew exactly how to protect our things.The team at Loungecraft made a very stressful move as easy as possible. Their attention to detail and care in handling our things was greatly appreciated. Not one thing was damaged! I could never have done this without them, and I will surely recommend them to friends. more

GOOD EXPERIENCE 2/5/2009

I owned a small restaurant in Roslyn Long Island which I had to close suddenly because of roof damage to the building.The men sent were professional & friendly.They wrapped the equipment and furniture(oak tables & chairs) .Boxes seemed to be handled gently, NO BROKEN DISHES OR GLASSES \r A stressful experience went well.Price was in line with what we expected & researched Hourly rate for movers & truck. more

The Worst Experience Ever 4/24/2008

I would never recommend this company in a million years, even if it was for free. They gave me an estimate over the phone, which turned out to be way off, from what I paid. They also hit me with an extra T.V. charge, which I was never told of. Plus they scam you into buying what I researched what I thought was insurance, but it turned out to be what they call it valuation insurance. They totally lie about you having coverage of your personal belongings. The cost is $25.00 dollars, for absolutely nothing. more

Missing Goods from American Red Ball Movers 10/22/2006

Our elderly mother was exploited by the movers and it affected her well-being. The movers "lost" goods that they spoke about being of market value or what they liked. We thought that Loungecraft Moving was a nice family company but they did not screen workers properly so we ended up missing thousands of dollars worth of goods. The driver warned us that many people over the years who didn't buy the extra insurance have reported their goods missing and this could happen to us- especially when traveling distances. Then, we found ourselves in this missing goods scam by several workers. The owners said that it is not the type of company that holds their workers responsible. They said they do not monitor them once they contract them for the job. more

movers 7/23/2005

my mom was moving. I called loungecraft adn they made an appointment to come over to my moms house and give us and estimate on the cost. The two movers who came over were very nice and capable.They gave us a fair price and were able to move in in under two hours.They were very good at their job and I reccommend them. more
