The Real Thing 2/11/2008

I love this place. Cho's has been here for over 20 years, with Mr. Cho and his wife serving the same delicious dumplings. Believe it or not, until 8 or 10 years ago the dining area next door to the counter didn't exist, and there were three tiny tables squeezed into the side of the room you could sit at. It's best to come during 'normal' busy times when there is more food available and it's more likely to be ready immediately. Pros: Great food, hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, the inimitable Mr. Cho! Cons: Sometimes out of various items. more

A rare bargin in Palo Alto! 10/29/2006

This place is very special. A hole-in-the-wall (with true hole-in-the-wall feel) where you can get amazing pork buns (and really good dumplings) with really yummy hot sauce for about 1/10th the price of your average Palo Alto restaurant! Pros: Hot Sauce! Pork Buns! Prices! Mr. Cho himself! Even the dive atmosphere. Cons: Egg Rolls. more

Hole in the wall, but delicious. 7/25/2005

I was a regular at Cho's during my days at Stanford and still stop by when I'm in the area. Great hand made dim sum type dishes, pork buns, potstickers lots of different dipping sauces. But remember that there is no atmosphere and the service is very basic, but the food is worth it. more

Terriffic food 5/13/2005

This is among the best dim-sum type food I've found. The place is literally a whole in the wall with four tables, but the food is amazing. The owner/chef can be compared to the soup-nazi, although he does have his moments of friendlyness. But the food is great, eggrolls, potstickers, BBQ pork buns, shui mai all the good stuff. more
