Los Cucos

Last night we tried Los Cucos in "old" Katy for the first time. This small restaurant is located in a shopping center that looks like it has been around for awhile, and most of the customers looked like "regulars." We were quickly seated, despite a line out the door. The service was very fast, and we had our drinks and chips immediately. The green salsa is to die for! I think it might be the best I've ever had...very creamy and mild. I could have dined on the chips and salsa alone. I ordered enchiladas and my husband ordered a chicken dish. Both were delicious and had very generous servings. Others around us ordered a large fajita dish that came out on its own "grill." It looked delicious. Overall, everything was great. My only complaint was that it felt a little warm in the restaurant. But with a packed house and 100 degree temperature outside, it was understandable. more

I love Los Cucos! They ahve the best food for a great price. The chicken stuffed avacado is the best! Love it! more

I LOVE Los Cucos! Their food is so yummy! The start out with chips and salsa as well as a delicious green sauce. I could make a meal just out of this!! They have a variety of meals to choose from. You can go for a combo meal or just try out an entree. My personal favorites are the El Texano or the La Bonita combo meals. Their tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas are all excellent and the service is great as well! Be prepared for a crowd, but it will be worth the wait! more

We've been to all the locations at one time or another and all have been very good. My favorite time to go is on the nights they have the mariachi bands. They have a wide variety of Mexican food to chose from plus many selections you don't normally find at other Mexican restaurants which makes this restaurant even better. You can also get fresh made guacamole made right at your table- and to me- it's the best tasting around! The service has always been very good and fast and practically the moment you sit down, they will have chips and dips at your table! Every once in a while you may have to wait to be seated but it doesn't take long. Their prices are excellent- I definitely recommend this if you like Mexican! more
