LA Sightseeing Tours was awesome. Seriously, what a great day.
I've lived in LA my entire life and I thought I knew this city inside and out. I've showed countless out-of-towners around, but this time I decided to let a professional handle all the driving, parking, narrating, etc. I called up Los Angeles Sightseeing, booked a seat for myself and my visiting gal pal, and we had a blast.
They took us to all the big tourist attractions, like Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach Boardwalk, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, the Sunset Strip, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and we even drove up Mulholland Drive to get a good look at the infamous Hollywood Sign. I never even knew there was a picture perfect city vista up there!
The best part was driving through Holmby Hills, Bel Air and Beverly Hills to get an up close look at all the movie star homes. That was entirely new to me, and my friend LOVED it. It's impossible to promise a celebrity sighting for visitors, but this was just as good. And the mansions are SO pretty.
I can't say enough good stuff about our guide. She was fun and goofy and knowledgeable--and she made a real effort to make everyone happy. Before the tour she introduced herself to everyone on the bus, asked them where they were from, and whether or not they had any specific sightseeing requests. She handled the LA traffic with ease, and that's saying something: I can imagine how hard it is to navigate that bus up the tiny, windy roads in Bel Air and Holmby Hills. Yikes!
So yeah, highly recommended. It's real easy way to see all the best of LA in a day.
Pros: Great tour guide, fast, easy and efficient
Cons: I got a little car sick up in the hills...
