All of LA in a Day! 6/15/2010

LA Sightseeing Tours was awesome. Seriously, what a great day. I've lived in LA my entire life and I thought I knew this city inside and out. I've showed countless out-of-towners around, but this time I decided to let a professional handle all the driving, parking, narrating, etc. I called up Los Angeles Sightseeing, booked a seat for myself and my visiting gal pal, and we had a blast. They took us to all the big tourist attractions, like Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach Boardwalk, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, the Sunset Strip, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and we even drove up Mulholland Drive to get a good look at the infamous Hollywood Sign. I never even knew there was a picture perfect city vista up there! The best part was driving through Holmby Hills, Bel Air and Beverly Hills to get an up close look at all the movie star homes. That was entirely new to me, and my friend LOVED it. It's impossible to promise a celebrity sighting for visitors, but this was just as good. And the mansions are SO pretty. I can't say enough good stuff about our guide. She was fun and goofy and knowledgeable--and she made a real effort to make everyone happy. Before the tour she introduced herself to everyone on the bus, asked them where they were from, and whether or not they had any specific sightseeing requests. She handled the LA traffic with ease, and that's saying something: I can imagine how hard it is to navigate that bus up the tiny, windy roads in Bel Air and Holmby Hills. Yikes! So yeah, highly recommended. It's real easy way to see all the best of LA in a day. Pros: Great tour guide, fast, easy and efficient Cons: I got a little car sick up in the hills... more

Fun for All Ages 6/13/2010

We’re a blended family. His are teenagers, mine preteens and ours a toddler. With such a wide range of ages, it took some negotiation to decide on what theme park or attraction we wanted to go to when we visited Los Angeles. We finally decided on Sea World, but since we had to stay in Santa Monica, I wasn’t looking forward to the long drive. We decided to take a bus with LA Sightseeing, and it was a great decision!\r \r They picked us up in Santa Monica, and we were able to relax all the way there and enjoy the kids’ anticipation. I was really glad none of us had to drive all that way back, too, because the full day of excitement left us all wiped out. Most of us napped all the way back! I highly recommend this option when you’re traveling with children.\r Pros: Easy on the Parents Cons: none, really more

SoCal native very impressed with LA Sightseeing! 6/4/2010

After being recruited by my Texas co-workers to organize a tour of Hollywood during a business trip, I was reluctant because I thought I could serve as a competent guide. I was born and raised in Southern California, and I thought I knew everything about LA. Well, I eventually booked with Los Angeles Sightseeing due to the great online reviews, and I was really happy I did! The tour itself was jam-packed with attractions such as the Hollywood sign (up close and personal!) Kodak Theatre (where the hold the Oscars) and even Beverly Hills and the beach! My Texas co-workers loved it, and I have to admit that I learned quite a bit in just over three hours. I would recommend Los Angeles Sightseeing to anyone, even SoCal natives such as myself, because it was so fun and informative. (Oh, and booking online was extremely easy to do—it only took a couple of minutes!) Pros: Knowledgeable guides, great tour Cons: None whatsoever! more

LA's Top Tour Company 5/30/2010

My recent trip to Los Angeles was wonderful! One of the best parts was the tour I took with Los Angeles Sightseeing Tours. I love when I get to combine fun with relaxation, and this tour was perfect for both. The tour company is based in Santa Monica and came to pick me up from my Los Angeles hotel. This was the relaxation part since I didn't have to drive anywhere or worry about gas. Then came the fun. I got to visit all the places that I always hoped I'd get to see. I got to visit Rodeo Drive and the Walk of Fame. I also got to see a lot of celebrity homes and visit some amazing neighborhoods. I like that this tour included places like the Kodak Theater and Sunset Strip but also included beaches and the chance to see the Pacific Ocean. This East Coast girl was wowed! Pros: Affordable tours, great guides, top-notch customer service Cons: hmmm...none that I can think of more

Fun activity for out of town guests 5/29/2010

Took a tour with LA Sightseeing a few days ago with a friend from out of town. I always see people lined up for these tours on Second Street in Santa Monica, but never got around to taking one myself—I figured that since I already live here, I wouldn’t get much out of it. But my friend had never been to LA before, so I had the idea to go—and we ended up having a blast! First of all, our driver was great: funny without being annoying, and knowledgeable about the area. I even learned a few new fun facts about the Santa Monica/Venice area, where I’ve lived for like five years. I was a bit worried about being cooped up on a bus for several hours, but the tour actually stops to let you out at places like Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, etc., so you have time to walk around and take pictures and things. Next time I have a friend in town who hasn’t spent much time in the city, I’ll definitely put LA Sightseeing on my list again! The bus was comfortable and clean (we took the mini-bus, which seats maybe 20 people. We wanted to take an open-air bus tour, but the weather wasn’t good—next time I want to try it!) All in all, the tour offered a good overview of city at a good value. Pros: -Friendly drivers, comfortable buses, stops at fun places Cons: None, really, on our tour more

Stress-Free Travel with Los Angeles Sightseeing Tours 5/17/2010

My husband and I had a rare night out during our trip to LA, and we took advantage of our freedom by booking an evening tour with Los Angeles Sightseeing Tours. They picked us up at our hotel (for free), and off we went to explore the incredible sights of the city after dark. A four-hour tour is not something our kids would have enjoyed, though we did encounter some other travelers with their kids, so don't feel like it has to be adults-only. We visited the famed Rodeo Drive, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Sunset Strip, all for only $60 each, which is a great price when you consider how stressful it would have been to find our way to these places in the dark, in an unfamiliar rental car. Plus the tour guides gave us lots of interesting information that we might not have found out from the tour books. Los Angeles Sightseeing Tours has a great website, an 800 number and is always available to answer questions, which is something I really like when planning a trip. I have no use for companies that are hard to reach, so they already scored in my book before we even took the tour. It was a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone who doesn't know Los Angeles. Pros: free hotel pickup, wide range of serives more

a very nice way to see LA 5/12/2010

Taking a tour with Los Angeles Sightseeing Tours is a great thing to do early on in your vacation to LA. For some people it will be a really comfortable and convenient way to do all the movie star stuff you expect to do in LA like seeing the Hollywood Sign, the Walk of Fame, Mann’s, the Kodak Theater, etc. If you want to spend the rest of your days at theme parks or doing something else, then you will still have seen the famous locations in one afternoon. But this is also a perfect way to sample some sites and shopping and beaches and restaurants so that you can decide where you want to spend more time. The tour guide we had was really funny and nice and made sure no one got stressed about time or traffic or anything. I would highly recommend the LA tour that I took, and I’m sure the company is also great if you want to go to Knott’s, Sea World, Universal, Disney, etc. Pros: comfortable, convenient, fun Cons: not *quite* enough time for everything more
