Lorraine's Spa Salon

Had the WORST waxing of my life at this salon. I was severely burned, had torn skin, was at a high risk for infection, and I was told my ""hair was too fine"", thus it couldn't all be taken off, I've been doing this for 5 years and that's never been a problem before. Now, (after more than a week) I'm worried about scarring. Upon calling to complain, I was told I could only have half of my payment back, and when I arrived at the salon and demanded my full payment, I was taken into a back room by the owner and lectured, and told ""not to come back"", she was ""uncomfortable with the concept of waxing"", and ridiculously rude. I am considering calling the Health Department. Avoid this place at all costs-it's pretty, but the customer service was APPALLING. more

i got around $80 for x-mas and want some blond highlights in my chestnutish hair. how much does blond highlights cost in virginia?? more

I recently (as in a few months ago) went to Lorraine's based on reviews. The stylist I had was nice, very funny- great cut but the color... I'm a little mad about that. I had blonde highlights in my naturally chestnut hair that had grown out and were pretty disgusting- I enlisted the stylist to dye my hair back to my normal color and then put red highlights in for the fall/winter. Instead of dying my hair all the way back to brown at first she dyed my hair red first- then did like a brown glaze. I went with it because she's the expert. The color looked fantastic when all was said and done- all was very well, I went around recommending Lorraine's to every one. I even bought the follow up products she recommended and began using them religiously (and still do). Two weeks after my cut and color the red was still rinsing out of my hair. It turned my one time 'blonde' highlights into hot, bright, barbie convertible pink... I'm positive that they used semi-permanent color now and I certainly didn't intend on paying over $100 on a semi permanent color that I could have trusted myself enough to do. It just really rubbed me the wrong way. Like I said, I liked the stylists personality and the rest of the people there I came into contact with... the color was my only issue (but a pretty significant one). more

I was recently married and for my bridal shower some of my girlfriends got together to give me gift certificates to Lorraine's. I scheduled a massage and brow waxing prior to my wedding day and for them to do my hair and make-up the day of. I was very impressed with the service I received. Prior to this my spa experience was nil, but I felt very comfortable here. The layout and design of the studio is very cozy. Each member of the team is attentive and I even got to meet with the hairstylist and make-up artist a week beforehand so we could develop a plan of action.\r \r My massage was just wonderful. My husband gets massages for medical reasons and it had never occurred to me to get one of my own, but everyone said it would help me to relax and enjoy and my wedding experience and they were SO RIGHT! I've told my husband that future gifts can definately include more pampering at Lorraine's. I'm going back this Saturday to have Julia cut my hair; she was the stylist who fixed my updo for my wedding.\r \r One of my favorite features of Lorraine's is their receptionist, Wendy. Similar to a doctor's office, she calls you a day or two before your appointment to remind you of what you have scheduled. This is extremely helpful for someone as forgetful as me! My friend referred me to Lorrianes Spa Lalon for a new hair color. I could not be happier! I had the same hair color for years and was so scared to change it. Julia did an awesome job on it. I get compliments all the time. I love the atmosphere at Lorraines as well. Beautiful chandaliers and great soothing colors! I would highly recommend this Spa Salon! more

Recently myself and a friend received pedicures from Lorraine's. We both were very happy with the overall experience. The pedicure room is absolutely beautiful! The two staff members who performed our pedicures did a great job. They made sure we were comfortable and reaxed. They even offered a drink to quench our thirst. What more could you want? d I love my french pedi! Since then I have referred two more friends who called me just last night to thank me for the awesome referral. They too were pleased and decided to buy gift certificates! Now all four of us have plans to get pedicures. Thank you! more
